That's a fair stuff up by the Fields and in the two's as well. Great for the Pirates , the boys at Ormond have said all year they are the best team.

It's not a stuff up.....they are a very young side....lost 3 during the week , one at the two minute mark out for game...then the 4 copped a big head knock early in the second ......then kicked poorly...Finals footy against very good sides need to have everything go your way and make it happen.....and it didn't.

But they are not excuses as Pirates matched up well and deserved to win ....there is a resolve to stick together and go again next year...the many 19 and 20 y o s will improve and our 19s won the premiership again ...

We also have some other potential big ins for next year.

Two Premierships and two finalists out of 4 with great coaching and a strong Commitee stands the Club in good position for next year.

C.Judd only lives a few ks down the road Scruff. There's a challenge for you:)

Another kiss of death - this time from a bloke who's credibility is suspect oblivion.
What's the matter Brian? Is your premature speculation in a section you've seen zilch this year incurable?
Rissoles ....I wish you well....it will be tough ......Mazenod the week before played the best footy I've seen all year.....

I thought your supporters yesterday were passionate but respectfull....very different from what I saw the week before...bordering on ferrule.

Good Luck from the scruffster

Unfortunately I think he's done AM....kids going to Haileybury too.....

But hopefully a name who's played at hat level and a good Club guy.

Cheers

Scruff,
I hear what you are saying.
Ignore the naysayers.
I've enjoyed your posts throughout the year even though you've used up a lot of thread by struggling with the 'Reply' Button.

You mean the old alma mater no longer offers sporting scholarships. Not that I'd suggest for a moment Haileybury would have done so in this instance btw.

Agree with Privateye re your contributions. I'm sure Mr Bedford would endorse that and will do so as soon as the end of season drinkathon finishes. Not that I'm suggesting for a moment he isn't a very responsible person in every respect btw.

Keep posting.

Very true, have enjoyed the banter with scruff top. AM , 2 big sessions done and the finale today. I believe we will be sharing the same local watering hole as the victorious Glen Eira.

Scruff's boys wouldn't be too far way, I'd imagine.

I think its all been pretty subdued to be honest.....the 19s might have had a crack on sat night tho
A lot to do the the strict discipline ingrained during the boys years at the Glen Eira Road campus I'd imagine.

No AM ..no carlton players allowed ....although he would be handy .... Don't want to say till he's locked away....wouldn't be appropriate..

Quite proper too. I was being a bit cheeky.

Who do you fancy of those in the big dance? I'm leaning toward the Nodders. Some effort by Ben Phibbs in his first year at the helm. That said, I haven't picked a winner during the finals so Riss should feel at ease.

AM....my tip is Mazenod ..purely on the basis that they played the best footy I have seen in the first final...but the reason I think the Pirates will be competitive is big bodies....one of the differences that stood out on the weekend. The fields had 5 19/20 yos including the B and F r/up who had very good seasons and are class players....but the Pirates man handled them and overpowered them and they didn't have the impact they had had during the year..that will be fixed over pre season.

I think it should be a good game ....I hope the pirates do it ...but think they will fall just short ..

Came across a Nodder today who has been OS most of the year and will therefore not be an on field participant this week. Much to his chagrin. Apparently there is likely to be another important 'in' this week and quite a degree of confidence - not over confidence mind you - emanating from Central Reserve.

Might be one of the lowest scoring grand finals ever if this rain keeps up. We all know how awful Sportscover Arena ccan be when it's muddy...it's gonna be a task for both sides to kick any sort of score this week.
The surface last Saturday was a disgrace, pot holes everywhere. The centre was covered , but the water off the covers saturated the surrounds and staff were running around with sand on a cart to fill the holes.

Seru
REPLACE ALL DIVOTS!!!!
Seriously bad place to play any decent sort of standard of football unless it hasn't rained for a month and no wind. Sell the damn land to property developers, invest the windfall, lower affiliation fees to ease pressure on all clubs and get a long term lease at Princess Park or Vic Park, both of which have immaculate surfaces.

Great idea in theory but do the Ammos actually own that land?

Isn't it council land?
