Agree. Herculean even. Three in a row is an amazing achievement at any level. But history is just that and unwise to enter pissing competitions with a club that has a record that ranks among the best. Your beloved Carey could only dream of such sustained ‘A’ grade success.

My club had some fantastic battles with Ormond during that era. We both had a lot of success but on balance they had it over us.

Who is this star from that era of which AM and BS speak?

Carey is on the rise Rooster..we both know this.
I'm a massive historian of the game and would never enter a pissing contest with Ormond. My comments re Kew never have anything to do with Ormond.
That's a Richo and Bedders rivalry.
Hopefully catch you at some Panthers games during the season Rooster.

I have my doubts that Canada has anything to do with Old Carey, though does appear to have his finger on the pulse at times. I would guess he hails from Camberwell Oval way or just across the freeway and is happy to misdirect his support. Whilst not a threepeat, which is astounding, Old Carey's rise from G Section, or more recently E White, and through 5 grades in around under a decade, to be consistently in B and A over the past 5, would be rivalled, or surpassed, possibly only by SBMT and maybe Mazenod in recent times. Regardless, this is a C grade thread, so kudos to Kew, and well done to Ormond on a magnificent history, but maybe more talk of this year would be pertinent, because 20 years ago means little in round 1 or round 18 other than proud club history,

He’s a devout baptist and a proud Panther man for sure. And when you get back on the winners list this year, which I am absolutely sure you will, he will be front and centre on the bandwagon.

VAFA history is littered with clubs who have gone through the grades at rapid rate. My own mob one of many to have done it several decades back. The trick of course is to then remain at the pointy end.

Unlikely mate. Different grades but expect to see your beloved Carey back in Premier by 2018.

Another Herculean post from you Rooster. 'Bomber' Burden was the star of whom I speak.

As for Prem 'C', like the chances of OGGS and Marcellin.

You'd expect the super fit lads from Pine Lodge to be there when the whips are cracking as well.

Of course, Brett Bomber Burden. A Kew champ who became something of a journeyman late in the piece. Played many find games for the state side from memory also.

I'm a big Panther fan. Not Hands down or Inner sanctum, but more on the Cust. I'm sure I will see some Carey action this year and even more in the future.
But yes this is a C Grade thread. Beasy to forget this and get a little Lost.

Fair enough. Nice play on words..I just get a little concerned when a side gets pumped up, as this is often not from people within the club

Im not a baptist or ex alumni ‍ despite the sleuth.
But i do like the Panthers and know many, mainly non football ex grammarians.
I think it was Paul Newton who said...what goes up, must come down. Hopefully at Pantherland this is reversed.

I think blacks rise from E to A grade premiers in a similar timeframe shouldn't be dismissed.

This thread has become a tad boring, especially with regards two of the three brown wearing clubs from 2016.

PS

OI went from D in 1994 to A Grade finals in 1999 was also a fine effort. Winning two and being robbed of another. (Don't mention the war). Very cryptic.

Mazenod's run was from entering the comp in F Grade and playing in A Grade 7 years later. Pretty good effort. Pity they couldn't sustain their time in A.

Saw Old Geelong a couple of times last year and think they have what it takes to be competitive in C. Judging by their website they have picked up some quality players too this off-season, definite top-2 chance.

FWIW the thing I like about Old Geelong is their ethnic diversity i.e. do you go with a hyphen or not?

Any Wellers out there?
Am hearing good things. Huge influx of players and some great goodwill with girls team coming on board.
Give me some goss?
