Caulfield and Kew played a practice game down at Garfield today.

The final score in the order of 22+Goals to Caulfield and 5pts to Kew.

Caulfield had rested a few and only played a couple of their midfielders for half the game.

I hope Kew had a lot out .....or it will be a long season for them...

They looked very slow and their skill level was poor.

Any other action out there today

Tough day for Kew but with a number of key outs, new players to the club being thrown around and about 4 less than the Caulfield extended bench in today's weather.. we're not too disheartened

Caulfield moved the bell really well in the Seniors & Reserves. I expect them to be the benchmark in Premier C this year

BigFooty Family, please do not worry about the Mighty Kew Bears. Prince had a night off from being a disc jockey at his local community radio station and headed down with a picnic to watch the Bears train last night.

While they may not resemble their namesake the Brisbane Bears, there are a few lads in that side who could have cut it in the big time in the early 90's. Especially Luke Klasen, the bloke should wear #39 on his back this year, his got luscious blonde locks like The Wiz Capper and can kick a sauage roll from anywhere inside 50.

Once again, Caulfield aren't the benchmark as Kew will be setting this once again this season, Caulfield will be down fighting for scraps with Williamstown this season.

Regards, Tony Armstrong.

And here I was thinking there might be a little more sense in this forum this year .

And

If your going to wear bright orange boots .....make sure you can play

Scruffy, don't worry about the orange boots mate, i'm more of a classic Adidas Copa in black sort of player, although if i get to goal umpire on the hallowed turf of the MCG during Half-Time Auskick this year I may run with a Nike Total 90 setup in white.

Let's just say, keep an eye on the Fitzroy Stars and you may see Prince27 in all his glory throughout Season 2017. If not, Prince will be in his finest form singing covers of Purple Rain at The Workers Club.

Regards, Tony "Double Game" Armstrong.

^ can confirm Lukey 'Mr September' Klasen is primed for a HUGE season. Lining up against him is a scary thought for all Prem C defenders. Didn't play on the weekend but expect to see him round at the Bearcave

So handsome. And apparently playing at Kew this year. Huge news. #fakenews

In real news, Luke Klasen is a huge virtual recruit for Kew. Has taken 90 poles in six seasons at the Roosters, but finally has committed to a big preseason and a bigger haul of snags.

How many of these were top order batsmen?

Any news leading up to round 1? Popped down to Gordon Barnard today and saw a slick Wellers outfit run rings around Old Ivanhoe in the first half. OI did have a few stars not playing but I was very impressed with Old Camberwell. Young and skillful with a very good ruckman. I expect them to push for finals this year

Goodness me fellas. The dross I had to read through to get up to date in here was ridiculous.

Anyway, finally the 2017 season is almost upon us. Won't bother hiding my affiliations. I'm an Old Camberwell man looking forward to a big year.

Some thoughts on teams from the whispers I've heard or the matches I've witnessed so far:-

Old Haileybury - Not much said about them in here as yet, but can confirm that they took Old Camby to the cleaners in a praccy match last weekend. Big bodies. Well drilled. Finals bound.

Old Marcellin - A Marcellin mate won't stop sprouting about how good their list is this year. Must admit to being impressed by their training efforts but I guess with the new coach at the helm the jury remains out at this point.

Old Ivanhoe - Very surprising praccy match yesterday. Old Camby winning by 10ish goals against an undermanned and outclassed OI. Ressies only started with 18 blokes the week before round 1 as well? Groth & their big Ruckman both sat it out but looms as an interesting year for OI. For those that mightn't have heard, big Bruno has finally hung up the boots as well.

Old Caulfield - The Kew practice match basically confirmed suspicions that they'll be there when the whips are cracking. Very deep list.

Kew - Always well structured and brought a passion to the contest last year under the old regime that allowed them to catch a few teams off guard even when they were at a talent deficit. Interested to see if the new coach can uphold those high standards. Reports from the Caulfield game don't bode too well.

Hampton - A player I know tells me that they'll be gunning for finals and don't see themselves staying in Premier C too long. We will have to see. Not exactly alone in talking about finals ambitions.

Old Camberwell - Last week's big loss to Haileybury had me morbid all week. So was plenty shocked and a touch confused to see the Wells do a number on OI yesterday. Guess that sums up where we are - at best a finals team, at worst in the middle somewhere. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

The rest I've heard nothing about.

Great work JB. Lovely first up effort.
I'm hearing that Marcellin will be pretty strong. Led Carey at halftime yesterday before falling away. Had a few sitting it out. Not sure what type of team Carey sent out.
Caulfield clearly the team to beat IMO. But should be a cracking year in Premier C.

Old Carey 8-10 goal winners in end. Plenty missing Cust Crozier Reid Sloan Macleod amongst others. Both sides showing good signs

Cheers OC. My mail came from Marc friend.
I think Carey will be right up there, so Marc will be happy with that. Particularly when not full strength.
