good post the next jb:thumbsu:

i heard on the grapevine that caulfield smashed sms and that hampton should have beaten ormond by plenty.

Caulfield beat St Mary's by about 15 goals yesterday.....the week before they lost to choccos Ajax by about 3 goals with half a dozen Round 1 players out.

I find it very hard to predict how teams will go as a number of sides seemed to have got some new cattle and adding two new teams from B grade who should be strong . Kew is the only C Grade side we have played and they were woeful on that day but don't know how many they had out.

I guess the great thing about each year with the ammos two up and two down is that it's all very hard to predict

Hampton had a lot of rushed behinds and it was close all day, the Monds didn't score in the first Q, but were in control in the 2nd and it was pretty even after that, so your grapevine was well off the mark.

Cheers OC. My mail came from Marc friend.
I think Carey will be right up there, so Marc will be happy with that. Particularly when not full strength.
Dropped in on the third quarter of this game on the way back from watching a friend play ressies further out north. I have no formal affiliation to either side, but have a couple of friends who are involved at Old Carey so knew about the game and location.
Observations.
Both sides appeared fairly young, except for a few more experienced heads on both sides. Both sides seemed to put an emphasis on heavy tackling pressure.
Old Carey seemed a bit too slick with ball movement forward and caught Marcellin out on the turnover. The level of the game was probably good as i saw in Premier B last season, and i saw several of the top sides play, but it is hard to compare Apples with Pears. I was only there for a quarter!

the grapevine information was that hampton had into double figures more shots for goal than ormond.

if the grapevine is wrong i apologise.

Tips for Round 1

Willy CYMS - 23 pts
Caulfield - 35 pts
OGGS - 75 pts
Marcellin - 10 pts
Rovers - 18 pts

Looking forward to watching from afar this year, quit the game cos i can't kick, mark or handball.

Don't let that stop you from playing.

Thousands before you, including me, have ignored lack of talent and continued to play.

Round 1

Old Haileybury
Caulfield
Old Geelong
Marcellin
Hampton

With no confidence whatsoever.

There is a rumour that OI have pulled out of C and there will be a bye ! Anyone else heard anything.

Thank God, I now can do some work around the house.

May need to look a little closer. We did not proceed with our 3rd's. Nothing sinister.

They are absolute red hot favorites, got on early with Pendlebet.
Mr Bedford ....now lets not get carried away here...4 new clubs...everyone claiming new gun recruits....new coaches....how do we draw this conclusion.Do I detect a soft spot for the fields after last years misdemeanour .....

Surely you can put odds up , from that dodgy betting agency .

As you asked nicely..

Willy 1.70 vs Hail 2.10
Home ground advantage led us this way.

Caul $1.20 vs Ivan $4.80

Ment and Oggs $1.90 each

Marc $1.70 vs Camb $2.10
Would be reversed at the Barnard.

Kew and Rovers $1.90 each

Has Ivanhoe been promoted from D1 as I heard the other one has pulled out. If so can I get 20 large on the Fields. Remember bet responsibly.

Old Haileybury - haven't heard much from either camp, going with the team that played B grade last year
Caufield - Flag favourites and Ivanhoe missing a few key players from what I've been told
Old Geelong - again, haven't heard much from either so going with the OGGS to repeat the Grand Final performance
Marcellin - Have heard they're in good nick, Camberwell are apparently improved but Marcellin at home should be too good.
Kew - biased obviously, sorry Rovers.
