Caulfield very very lucky to win today......had the wind (howling gale)in all four quarters...Willy lost many players to injury and had no bench all day...Umpires gave us a dream run...Caulfield had its strongest team in .....ball bounced our way all day on all occasions....and Willy tagged the wrong players because they got the numbers mixed up...

Caulfield v Camberwell
Caulfield went into the match with Ocs being in reasonable form with a couple of wins under the belt .OCs applied a tag after being chopped up last year by one particular player. The OC number 10 did a solid job but this allowed others to step up and Caulfield still won the centre clearances. Caulfield kicked very poorly early with 6 very easy shots missed (like rediculously easy) in the first quarter allowing OCs to stay in touch. Over time Caulfield began to dominate all over the ground kicking 16 goals in the second half. I thought OCs half back rebounded well but that was the only real area that they matched Caulfield on the day. Good to see a few new names in the best , but the big bloke up forward was huge . Kew next week away .

First of all Prince would like to give a shout out to the great man Lou Richards, having played a total of 256 games between us for the mighty pies, i pass out my wishes to all down at the holden center and anyone in premier c who don the black and white

Now, let's talk business and the problems that are rising out of Victoria Park, and I'm not talking about Nathan Buckley and his under performing side. I'm talking about Luke "Orange Boots" Klasen and his team-mates down at the Kew Bears. Ever since the overrated Klasen decided to don the orange pumas, kew have gone from a possible sneaky flag contender to a side that would struggle to beat Chadstone. Throughout the practice matches the boys showed promise but klasen is struggling and it seems to be rubbing off on the rest of the team. This is a bloke who decided it would be a wise idea to don the number 69 on his jersey like a grade 6 schoolboy full of testosterone and top it off with a pair of bright orange flippers.

So to the boys at kew, tonight please bring a spare pair of black boots for Lukey Klasen and hope this reignites the fire and you can get off the bottom and give Prince something to cheer about.

Combination of factors. Lost 5 quality senior players (three to retirement) who had 13 senior premierships between them as well as a handful of other fringe players and 3 of our good young blokes also made Northern Blues development list so we either get them some or weeks or not at all.

I hate to say it (and it's no excuse - just another contributing factor) but we've had a pretty horrid run with injuries and unavailability to start the season. 2 ACL's in the first week to quality senior players among other injuries, as well as a handful of guys who are unavailable due to work and family. I think in Round 2 there were up to about a dozen or more 'Best 22' (which is obviously subjective) players out, and only 6 players who played in the 2015 Premiership.

We were able to recruit to cover the lost players fairly well but just haven't had the depth to cover all of the other factors. Add to that a new coach and it suddenly becomes very difficult when you've got no continuity and have to start behind the 8-ball.

I said to a friend that asked me how we were shaping up pre-season that I thought it would take us 5-6 weeks to find our feet and it seems to be the way. I have faith that more games together between new/old players and new coach and regaining some more experienced players back will eventually lead to better results.

The last 2 weeks, on paper, look like significant defeats but in reality we were in the game or had the ascendancy for a lot of the time but struggled up forward, and then had off patches where the opposition punished us and we were never really able to get back into the game scoreboard wise. The competition has shown to be pretty even and anyone can beat anyone. I wouldn't write us, or anyone for that matter, off just yet.

So in summary, for those that will wet themselves at the mere mention of his name, no it's not just the loss of Beaser. In fact, that's one of the least contributing factors. I think just about anyone coaching under the same circumstances would be 0-4, unfortunately.

After a shocker against OH you have redeemed yourselves Scruffy. I understand the money is flooding into Maplebet from the movers-n-shakers for a Fielders flag. Regrettably, I'm told those funds are being diverted to an account in the Cayman Islands so a payout is not on the cards should the dream come to fruition.

Been smashed on Caul, SKOB (note the S) and earlier Ormond and Carey. Going to make a packet on Carey (thanks Carlton) and Ormond look to have very stiff comp.
I think scruff can start lining up, but I'm sure he's keen to keep the 'top' on any early celebrations. Which is the same as a lid for less scruffy folk..
