VAFA need to address this if true. Will be 3rd player from lower grades poached. Not sure it goes with the "integrity/ mateship/ loyalty" ethos that supposedly underpinned the trip.

Great way to ensure lower grade club stop supporting these kinds of trips in the future if their key talent is just going to seduced by the big boys (eg. Collegians, De La).

An extraordinary effort by De La to poach a player from the Ireland trip, seeing as nobody from the club (player, official or otherwise) even attended ! In fact I can’t ever remember a De La player going on the Ireland junket, certainly not in the last 10 years.

So if you are inferring that De La used the Ireland trip to get in the ear of a player and recruit him to the club then quite clearly you are wrong.

Indeed. A very smart footballer in his day. Left Carey for personal reasons a few years back. Good to see him ready to return and also for it to be at the club where he excelled as a player. Marcellin have been down for far to long.

Collegians are a real struggling club who can’t develop.
It’s a competitive world. Players may just like to play A Grade.
Players may just like to join new friends.

Marcellin and PEGS had a hit out on the weekend. Early days and not sure how many players each club had out but PEGS won by about two goals. Were there any other results on the weekend? Believe Fitzroy played Therry.
