They must have a better handle on the points for 2019, seemed to be a suprise or two in 2018.

Does Max Warren attract an extra point for being registered at Balwyn in 2018? 5pts VFL plus 1pt = 6pts.
Article mentions only 5pts. Interesting discussion point.

Must also be a story behind Jordan Walker sitting only on 3 points.
I'm sure they are correct... clubs do look these days.

With all that said they played the GF at 47 so it will be tight again. Can be difficult to manage when all players are available.

Most clubs do assess the impact of players points if a player is contemplating leaving, especially those to a rival. I do recall the suprise even from yourself Rich in last years off season that a particular player was transferred. This was done with the full knowledge on the points that will allocated at the Dogs.

I am not sure what an opposition club is expected to do in such circumstances. Allow a club to miscalculate the points & get away with it. Ignorance is no excuse.

After our first game with the points system in 2017 the League received numerous calls in regards to one of our players from a particular club. There had been a error at league level, & this was rectified. It is commonplace that clubs will discuss with the league points values in certain circumstances as at times it is quite grey. Rules are being adjusted annually, based on complex examples.

Such an example - Max Warren, registered at Balwyn 2018 (didn't play a game), but will need a clearance from a rival club in the same competition. Does he attract an extra point? 6 points rather than 5 as a VFL player. The article provides for 5 points so it will be interesting to see if this is correct. Not sure that this has been tested as yet & can't think of such an example since the points system arrived.

Not sure that the standard supporter comprehends the compliance burden placed on all clubs now with the points system & salary cap.

Gday from the Ovens and Murray. How does Andrew Pretto from Vermont go? He has just signed with Corowa Rutherglen up here. How would the EFL compare to the O&M? Cheers

WRFL Division1 Club, looking for a practice match on the 23/3/2019 or the week before, for seniors reserves and 18s. Our ground is unavailable.

Please DM me if interested

If the rumours are for 2018 then it won't be apparent if they are true until Feb. The rumour I heard didn't mention a club, just that there was a salary cap problem with a club in 2018. The media release means that the rumours could only apply to the four clubs being audited for 2018 and may not be true at all.

Media release implies that those four clubs were audited for the 2017 season not 2018 season
