Just been online to read the Border Mail's summary of gate takings at minor league Grand Finals around Albury-Wodonga. Seems it only confirms what we already know... O&KFL come in first at $38,000 for their big day this year. The Hume League is predicting a gate of $36,000 for this weekend... and they are very happy with that! Trailing the field? You guessed it - the Tallangatta football league with just $32,000. Surely there is someone out there with a modicum of intelligence to read the signs and at least 'trial' a Grand Final move..? What is there to lose?

The entry to TDFL Grand Final was $10 and the entry to the Hume was $14 so you must way up apples with apples. Maybe the TDFL is selling itself short.

I like your thinking 2high... but then again perhaps (like the O&KFL) they have a superior "product" out there... and you can't compare cows sheds to what they offer at Walbundrie and the city oval.

So, doing the math, the Hume League $36,000 @ $14 is 2571 attendees, and the Tallangatta League $32,000 @ $10 equals 3200 people. How much was entry fee at the O&K ?

pretty sure the border mail quoted the crowd numbers higher for the tdfl than the o&k. something like 5500 at sandy creek, and 5000 for the o&k. would need to get hold of the papers again to back this up. personally i like sandy creek, just with they would get the playing surface up to scratch.
