Not a lot of love for Trinity at home...

OM to continue their very impressive season
Scotch to stay in touch with the finals race
SKOB to bounce back...match of the round
Xavs to continue on the march to the top
Fielders to get out of the relegation zone.....might be tough after their hopes for the season essentially ended last weekend.

Benny must of been on the case.

How can a player get 4 weeks for making contact with an umpire, play the following week (due to delay in appeal), then get off. The video is damning pretty conclusive.

Max "very confused" Leader

Correct decision. Why would a player deliberately make contact with an umpire? It has to have been an accident and I am not from Collegians. I hope the umpire is ok but often umpires and players are watching the play. Unfortunately accidental collisions will occur.

Got off on a technicality, and not because he was innocent. Feel sorry for Umpire.

Come on Max, it was clearly accidental contact, mainly caused by the umpire changing direction and veering backwards into the Collegians player.
Unfortunate, but IMO definitely not worth a suspension.

Toby got his weeks for altering course and bumping into umpire. Umpire altered course and bumped into player. Case dismissed : Correct decision

What was the technicality Max?
Had to do with the wording of the charge. Was charged with deliberate, when it should have been negligent. Case thrown. Ridiculous outcome. Good luck to the non lawyers at Collegians for winning the case.

Umpire/s, again, will have felt let down.

Any contact with an umpire should result in a report and fully investigated.

I've been hit twice this year. One was purely accidental and the other was as a result of not being able to back out quick enough. Knees are stuffed.

Both times players were very apologetic.

The Collegians player didnt even stop. Should have got 2 weeks minimum.

I think you will find the player got a bigger shock than the umpire!! He turns around to say sorry and then he panicked and ran off.

How did the players go when you reported them Max seeing your firm stance on the above?

I wonder if the BBQ and meat raffle will be on offer at the Trott tomorrow night? Might have to wander over and find out ;)

Collegians vs Old Melburnians who will be relishing the cold as part of the Mt Buller preseason
Old Brighton vs SKOBS in a coin toss
Trinity vs Old Scotch at home
Caulfield vs St Bernards hopefully
Uni Blues vs Xavs in a nailbiter

Collegians - night games specialists
Braahton - if VAFA podcast is correct SKOBAFL lost more players to injury
Scotchies - last chance
CaulfieldAFL- at home
Blues- coming good Xavs bruised from last week

Any particular reason Mirra v OMs is on Friday night? There'd be a few happy men deleting pots on Saturday arvo as a result.

45/

Considering we have been wanting to play a night game for years now (last one was in 2017 against SKOB), it was the right time to do so and OMs have allowed us to do so.

Plus, with some new lights, the Trott will be well lit for all to see and showcase a great game of footy.

Looking forward to tonight!
Great to have night footy back, it should be a rip snorter between the former long time neighbours.

Old Brighton at home should get the job done.
OM’s under the Friday night lights.
Old Xavs in a coin toss.
Caulfield to kick the sweep against the battling Bernard’s.
Old Trinty to keep their hopes alive with back to back wins.
