Considering we have been wanting to play a night game for years now (last one was in 2017 against SKOB), it was the right time to do so and OMs have allowed us to do so.

Plus, with some new lights, the Trott will be well lit for all to see and showcase a great game of footy.hop

We were listless. Mirra kicked the first in the first 90 seconds, then we conceded the next 15!

Lights are actually really good, very even and no dark patches on the ground. Did anyone find the footy that got kicked into the trees at the southern end? Aftermatch was well up to the usual standard, it was great having a good feed before heading home.

Lighting excellent at Glen Eira and the Council have put up great netting behind the goals so balls don't get lost in the dark. Obviously good at daytime too.

Big weekend of footy before the bye, lots of teams with injuries will be hoping to get through and rest up next week.

Blues to win: A big homecoming for one of SKOB’s favourite sons in Mr Martyn, many a SKOB supporter will shed a tear when they see him in that putrid Uni Blues jacket. They will be shedding more tears when he walks away with the four points, the young SKOB lads struggling with major injuries.

Scotch to win: These young Scotch boys, led by a proud Mr Shearer’s Foreign Legion(he recruited the dozen or so by himself), will secure themselves another season in the Premier section over a disappointing Caulfield Grammarians. Poor old Mr Punchy would be perplexed at the position his team finds itself in.

Old Melburnians to win: The match of the round, Old Brighton, helped by some questionable SKOB discipline, got away with the win last week. They normally love ‘Playing at the park’, but with Mr FerGUS Borthwick in a purple patch of form, will find it hard to stop the well drilled Redlegs.

Old Xaverians to win: OT have had some closely fought contests at TP in recent years, but not this week. With the stunning inclusion of Mr Billy Gowers, along with late outs from last week in Mr Richards and Mr Symeopolous, OX will pull away in a canter.

Collegians to win: If ever there was an 8 point game, then I’m nominating this as the first of several for teams at the lower end of the ladder.

Collegians have gone from the penthouse to the sh..house over the last 6 weeks, if ever they need to stop the slide, then this is it. Likewise, can Mr Groves inspire his young chargers to put in a big effort, knowing that the bye will give them some respite? Me thinks not, they may as well get the Melways out and start planning their visits to The Badlands, Hampton, Willy CY’s.
