Saw 45/'s post and thought "nah, don't be lazy, do your own picks"... and got the same anyway. Could have saved me the effort of looking at the fixture and mulling them over!

In WA, you have to submit your list of potential senior players with club-assessed points to the league for approval every year. They have six senior grades (A, B, C1-C4) so that's only one less than the VAFA.

I'd be staggered if the VAFA didn't have someone in their office whose job it was to assess player points prior to the season starting or during the season in the same way clearances are managed.

Thanks! Don't think it's that hard. Overwhelmingly the points allocation would be straightforward. A relatively small number would be contentious.

Amazing to think OX were torched by SKOB who were torched by Collegians who torched Brighton who were torched by OX!

Does anyone know why the OM’s game went so long? Hopefully not a major injury to either team?

To the numerous whistle blowers out there who know the rules better than I do, should this have been an OM’s free? Looks for all money like the OM’s defender was blocked (accidentally or otherwise) by the Blues runner, who really should not have been there. In a game decided by 3 points this was obviously a very big moment.

This was an absolutely appalling decision and I cannot believe the umpire didn't pay a free kick to OMs. No one within 25 metres of this one OMs defender bar the Uni Blues runner! Staggering that it wasn't called back and it leaves OMs without a valuable 4 points that they needed with Xavs and Collegians nipping at their heels.

OB and OMs are neck and neck at 9-4, and Collegians are 8-5 with Xavs having the superior percentage. I expect there will be a huge crowd at the Harry Trott Oval this week for the game of the round. There will be great match ups all around the ground.

The lions first quarter on Saturday was breathtakingly spectacular. Kenny Ong has returned from Singapore with real venom and his own footy, as he continues to rack up disposals week in and week out. Mirra, Greene, Fleming and Jackson all kicked multiple goals on the weekend and after taking some time to gel this year, the Collegians forward line is now looking potent at the right time of the season. From 3-0 to 3-5 and now to 8-5, I haven't seen a Collegians year with this kind of grunt in a little while.

Saturday should be a ripper, go lions!

FWIW isn’t it an automatic free if a runner is inside 50 at a stoppage? That is a diabolical stuff up on a pretty black and white rule.

The runner is one of your brethren, and is also the person who is running the Uni Blues defence against the VAFA regarding the points fiasco, enough said?

However, from my point of view, on this occasion I applaud him as it contributed to OM’s losing.

Oh, and one other ‘point’, were Blues over the cap again on the weekend? If you look at the tape, said runner was a 19th player on the ground for most of the game. So they had 23 players in total

There's no doubt the defender would have gotten to that if the runner wasn't there. That's one of the worst calls i've seen in a long while.

field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against an Official who:
(C) interferes with the football, an opposition Player, an Umpire or general play

You would argue to Quill (runner) interferes with the ball, an opposition player and general play. Only needs to be one for a free kick.

Astounding decision by the umpires. All of them.

Blues neglected to assign a point to Quill meaning they’ve exceeded the points limit again.
