Back in Oz and all I’m hearing is that the OX are telling anyone who will listen that they are ‘unbeatable’ this year!

Here’s an attachment of their last game, with their BOG from that day gone from the club, along with Hams, Schoenmakers, Richards and possibly Robinson.

Obviously Billy Gowers is a great in, Hannebery unknown based on his last 6 years at AFL level. I’m sure OB will be looking forward to putting them in their place again when they play them.

Let’s not polish the trophy for this years nomads yet 😊

Bring on season ‘23!

Mmmmmm.......based on the above from last year's PF, I would suggest they're not! And with all the players who have left, they might be lucky to stay up. Good try though champ

Xavs will be strong once again, but I still the SKOB recruits are the best ones (Wallis x2) and they’re the reigning premiers, so they’ll be tough to beat!

Someone give me some juice on how the practice matches went last weekend. A little bit AFL recruits too!

Internal scratch match for Collegians last week.

They're playing Uni Blues down at Seaford this weekend then against Old Trinity next week I've been informed.

I’m not sure practice matches mean anything these days, other than rewarding kids who haven’t missed a session all summer.

I assume OH will be a decent side this season based on their recruiting and pre-season form.

Collegians played Old Trinity on the weekend, I'm not sure how we went though.
They were the 3rd best team in B grade IMO. Just got over Fitzroy in the first semi, flogged (by that stage an out of form) Beaumaris in the prelim and then won the mud wrestle by under a kick. Their fortunes ebbed and flowed on the back of VFL availability and they were fully stacked at the right time. They have lost some genuine talent including Jack Lonie who was the best player in B grade last year. At best 6-8 at worst will be playing B grade in 2024. They have no depth and I fear what the likes of Xavs and SKOB will do to their reserves.

Fair comment, such a different side in the Finals with VFL players back, Beaumaris were out of form by Prelim day but OH won the Grand Final from 3rd and great work, surely they’ve set themselves up for A Grade this Season

I'm just looking at OH's reserves record from last season and they won 6 games, 4 against the sides below them, the others against sides around them. Whilst they won a few games I'd say they won't be terrible in A Grade. Collegians had a very young twos side last year and still won 4 games, ditto Old Trinity. Uni Blues' twos only won 2 games as well.

Footy is a funny game, different things can happen on any given Saturday!

Having spent most of the last 20 years watching ‘A’ grade football, I can attest that the difference between A and B grade reserves is substantial. No disrespect intended but when in 'A' grade Carey 2s were borderline uncompetitive. Last season in B grade they played finals.

I hope they can be competitive but unless they have added significant depth their ressies will cop some frightful hidings from the bigger clubs.
