I don't really understand the point in this new add-on?

Surely the grand final ticket access is the only reason most sign-up as social club members these days (aside from additional monetary support of the club). That's certainly the case for me.

Seems as though social club members have just been demoted from 'Priority 1' to 'Priority 2' for club GF tickets if we were to make it in the future.

Yeah I don't like it at all. Announce it before 2016 memberships go on sale or don't announce it at all this year and wait until 2017. Why should everyone who've already coughed up for a social club membership now be pushed back? It's not the most tactful move.

Other than some bling (coin, certificate, voucher), why would I want to pay another $100 when I am already guaranteed a GF ticket if we participate based on my social club membership?

Can someone from the club please explain?

Am I being price gouged?

It's basically a $100 option to ensure you don't get standing room tickets. It's a rort and is a disappointing move by the club.

Perhaps preparing for next year where Social Club may be priority but no longer 100% guaranteed of tickets and you'll now need to fork out twice as much for the right to be assured of a ticket.

Exactly, I don't think it's been very well thought through at all.

Thanks.

So I am being price gouged.

Will I have to pay extra to be able to print my own ticket also?

Agree, i have had a family Gold membership for last 10 years that guaranteed a GF ticket, what about loyalty? now pushed further back, pissed off with the club to be honest.

Social club 100% guarantees you a ticket, hence why it's capped at 10k. I don't know if each club runs it the same way, but i remember my friend who went to 2010 GFs as Saints fan, said that during the leadup, he got an email around early Sept asking each person which category seat they wanted, when Saints qualified for GF, money was automatically direct debited and was emailed the ticket in the category he selected.

Surely that is the most efficient way to manage it, and allows people to get the category they want, assuming demand is spread evenly across the categories.

The $20 Dogs shop voucher means it only costs $80 essentially, but even still, bit stupid to bring it in now. I understand it's a cash grab but PG said recently that membership revenue was already up $1.5M this year compared to last year off the back of increased SC and reserved seat memberships. Surely for the sake of an extra 200k, you don't want to alienate the fan base like this. It's all about balance and i think this could backfire for the club. I'm pissed, considering that you pay $120 for SC, now you pay $80 for priority 1, THEN you gotta cough up $200+ for the actual GF ticket should we make it. As a club with working class fans, $400 for a GF ticket is ****** and is tough for myself also, as a student.

Got silver social club for self and 2 offspring, had it for years. Guarantees either seat or standing room. Or at least it did. If that has now changed, I can't afford an upgrade, and will in fact drop the social club completely if that is the case. Not an impressive move by the club. Next time Gordo meets members in Ballarat, this will be the first issue I raise.

It doesn't change the guarantee but it increases the chance of standing room. Makes it a two tier process instead of a ballot.

Surely there is more than 2k reserved seats. Wonder how many standing rooms seats there are? Surprisingly some people prefer standing room. I'll be fkd if i can stand for 3hrs straight pressed against the rails and i'm 27. Imagine the 40+ year olds. (no offence to those folks out there)

I got an email too but it would cost me $220 - presumably because I'm not a social club member. That suggests it's an additional 2000 guaranteed GF tickets, in addition to the 10,000 for the social club.

The club gets a total of 15,000 tickets from the AFL so presumably most of the other 3000 would be reserved for life members, board members (and their family), major sponsors, VIPs, family and friends of players, officials, etc.

Coterie groups get included in the Premiership Circle automatically.

So here's a question for Ant_ - is the BF sponsorship classified as a coterie group? Would that mean we could buy one or more GF seats through the Premiership Circle? If so, how would you manage the process - same as always (random selection)? Obviously the winner would have to stump up the money for the seat.

Social club hasn't sold out. Presumably there is room to sell to some non-social club members at this time.

Im very similar, been a social club or gold for at least 10 years and member for 30, just to be pushed back in the queue. So much for looking after loyal supportwrs

Well, have always added anything extra in our spend to the Bulldogs backyard and we have 6 memberships there this year. Keep it quiet as the better half knows jack. (which is normal)

It would be better to use any additional money to give junior memberships to kids in local schools to see if we can get more members in the future but obviously that is not a priority.

Bit annoyed if I don't get this with my Premiership Gold reserved seats BUT I would gladly pay $1000 for a seat at a Dogs grand final so I'm not going to whinge.

Rather the money go to the club than anywhere else.
