In other preseason news, star Eagles midfielder Joseph Bloggs suffered a setback to his 2015 campaign when he suffered a flare up to an existing decapitation he originally suffered last season.
Bloggs will be sent for scans some time in the next fortnight to determine the extent of the damage, but Eagles coach Adam Simpson was upbeat his chances of being ready for round 2 of the NAB Cup.
"It's very much wait and see at this point for Bloggs," Simpson told reporters at his Thursday morning press conference."Bloggsie has dealt with injury very well in the past and we're confident he'll be right to go. Obviously, we'll know more after the scans."
"We're taking a conservative approach with Bloggs allowing his head to knit with the top of his neck naturally with rest, rather than sending him for surgery."
Bloggs originally suffered decapitation in round 5 last year, but fought his way back to be part of the team that took on the Gold Coast Suns to determine which of the two clubs would receive the worse selection in the 2014 AFL Draft. Despite being declared dead prior to the match, Bloggs played a pivotal role in ensuring the Eagles received the worse draft pick.
