And that’s me done for preseason

Probably the best conditioning I’ve seen the squad in since I’ve been attending training.

There’s a bit to look forward to this season albeit we’ll lose more than we win and there’ll be the occasional shellacking when things come completely unstuck

Stay positive, take the good with the bad as the players learn the new game plan and Mini identifies what he has to work with. Some will thrive, others will fall away but one thing I’m sure of is that the effort and desire to compete and improve will be there

Was there ever really any doubt that Dewar needed to be in the side? Too much class to be playing WAFL

After his second half of last season dewar should have been a lock for round 1 on that form alone .

The fact he looks to have taken his game to another level is very exciting.

I’d say they’re editing it into a more structured package then.

Petch is the ultimate “what if he puts it all together” example.

I think this game style really suits petch .

I think petch and brockman have almost done enough to be best 22 ahead of cripps and owies at this stage

I see Geelong, 2000s and making it up as he goes and think Jamie McNamara streaming into Geelong's forward line.

Good signs of developing new talent. But it will take time

IN: Dewar, Flynn, JWilliams, Hewett, Maric

OUT: Hunt, BWilliams, AReid, Owies, Cole

SUB: Hall or Johnston

Cole was good today . He is a tough defender who plays team first football

He is a way neater kick than Baker

Wojinski was one of my favourites back in the day. Always loved the run and carry stuff when they just tuck the ball under their arms and say "catch me if you can".

Exciting stuff.

Petch building some confidence. See how he goes against the Roos but is looking decent.

Allan looks like a bigger version of Sheppard and Ginbey was getting into all the right spots.

This game style is far less predictable and they are doing better at picking best options rather than heading to the usual suspects during build up play. It’s positive

Reid runs out three quarters as round one team takes shape

West Coast have taken a cautious approach with young star Harley Reid, benching the teenager after only three quarters of the Eagles’ match simulation on Saturday morning

Reid — who missed the match simulation against Richmond earlier in the week — pulled up a bit lame late in the third term and after some run-throughs with the medical staff at the final break was benched for the last quarter at Mineral Resources Park.

Tim Kelly and recruit Jack Graham showed good cohesion in their first real workout together, complementing each other as an offensive-defensive combination.

Good hit out today, we are building well. Ginbey BOG, is playing out of skin. Brockman is in our R1 side. Dewar going very nicely and is silky. Impressed by Grego & Shanahan. Archer possibly starting to breath right down JWills neck already too

Vintage this board re: Petch.

Some on here find it impossible to just post 'Petch has played well today' without some kind of caveat attached.

He did well today. The 85 metre penalty was a head scratcher.
Hopefully he continues this into the season. I think someone else mentioned the new game plan might suit him
