Ah yes it truly is a great time, preseason. All the teams are equal on the ladder with no wins each and EVEN Collingwoodenspoon supporters can feel positive about what's going to happen in the new season

So I take it you're 10 roccas_babe...?

BTW/ I thought it was fair question. A fan of one team asking a fan of another about there list. Pretty standard really. What did you read?

I thought we weren’t going to bag each other and abuse each other! Hmm!
This topic is to talk about pre season not to abuse each other!
Once Again Slutendon have started the bagging on here with this quote!
roccasrugly
Now Sandie i dont think there was any need for that comment! Do u?

Did anyone read the article on afl.com.au on Wallace's policy that if the Western Bulldogs players failed a pre-preseason fitness test they have to do extra work before the real preseason starts!

I think we'll be seeing either a superfit Bulldogs outfit in 2001 or a team that burns out badly in the 2nd half of the season.

Go Eagles- I think a bit of both- but it depends on the individual. And only half (i think) of the team at most will participate in the early start, and i would beleive most of them would be ressies players who need superior fitness to make up for the lack of other qualities, so i doubt we will burn out, or be superfit.

I think the main reason he has decided to take this path is due to the extended layoff that the olympic year has brought about. The article said they might come back a little "chubby".

It is a well known fact that Wallace loves drilling players during preseason, and if it wasn't for the player's association rules, we would have started two weeks ago, like in 97. Actually btw, would having these "obese

" players start preseason early be breaking the AFLPA guidelines?

Lets not forget the secret to Melbournes successful season was the fact they went out really hard in the pre-season and got themselves super fit.

I think they even started training while on the 1999 end of season holiday !

It seemed to work, they ran hard and long all season with no sign of 'burnout' at all - which was a bit of a surprise actually.

mags and rocca_babe i thought this site was about expressing opinions
sandie expressed her opinion by saying she thought the roccas are ugly, thats fine
you could have expressed you opinion by saying you dont find them ugly, but once again you jump straight in like a starving wolf on its pray and become abusive again
rocca_babe when calling someone immature make sure you arent. because judging by your response i think u are, once again that is an opinion so instead of jumping down my throat express to me that you arent

by the way i cant wait for it to start either, although essendon are just about the last to start on the 27th of nov.

poor u walshy1993 it'd suck to have to wait that long our boys start on the 23rd of this month so we're hanging til that day to see em all!!

(by the way rocca's_babe isn't immature, just very protective of her roccas..lol

wouldn't say that....bit of a hole actually, specially the plaza, shit i think we got a bit off the topic....oh well either way i guess greensy is o.k.

Westy Boy,

I think under the AFLPA guidelines all players must be given an eight week rest from the last game played to the start of pre-season training. If I am wrong someone will let us know.

For the doggies, that is next week so I am not sure how it works. The article in the Herald-Sun today seemed to suggest that the early start will be mostly for the young players. Maybe those whose seasons finished earlier are exempt from this rule.

The starting times for pre-seasons vary considerably. We are the first team to begin and that is next Wednesday (Oct 18th) while according to Walshy, the bombers don't start till November 27th.,

I just can't wait until the National Draft on October 29th!

very good comeback miss_magpie did u ever stop to think that afl players association rules say that players require 6 weeks off at the end of the year
the reason essendon is starting so late is because we played last and have 5 players in the aussie team
it might suck that long to wait for our boys to start training but it would suck even longer to wait that long for your team to win a premiership
