How much money did the club get for all our success this year? I know we received nothing for finishing on top, but how much did the club itself get for winning the grand final? Was it in any way fair considering that the winner of the preseason cup got $1 million?

I dont think the winner of the pre-season cup got $1million. Ithink the 1 mil was a bonus for a club that wins the pre-season and the premiership in the same year?

It is around $220-$250k, they bumped the prizemoney up to that amount the year we won the Nab Cup i believe (or the year before).
That must be were i got the 200k from then i remember seeing somthing about it like AFL give 150 ish and NAB 50 ish or something like that.

I actually think it was close to 1 mil for both sides competing...
Not that much - from today's age

The Cats can also expect to reap an estimated $700,000 directly related to their grand final win over Port Adelaide through AFL prize money and the sale of merchandise and memorabilia.
Maybe half of that was memorabilia.

I remember an article quite a while ago saying the premiers would recieve $1mil for winnning, and the Minor Premiers would recieve $250k, might be wrong though.

Financial incentive isn't an AFL's strength - considering the team play the entire season to claim the premiership, it's ridiculous that they receive less than a tennis player gets for winning a grand slam tournament. I know the club gets an amount for each match but the end-of-season prize still seems a very stingy reward. We should have got at least a couple of million dollars this year for winning the GF, let alone scooping almost everything else.

Working from memory here but I think the day premier got 1,000,000 prizemoney but something like 400,000 was to be distributed directly to players according to involvement formula over the season. eg. Owen just a tad for being on the list up to players who played most games in the ones - they got a nice amount.

The club pocketed 600,000

Please correct if I have damaged too many brain cells since the end of September.
