Opinion Prestia v Treloar

We wanted Treloar and lets be honest, he's a bloody fine player. But he chose not to come to Richmond, which then resulted in us grabbing Prestia. If Treloar had nominated us I assume that we would not have gone after Meatball.

I think Treloar is a better player than Meatball.... but I believe that Prestias importance to our team in terms of making those around him much better is far superior to what Treloar could have offered. IMO

If you could go back in time and choose. Who would you take?

Prestia and Treloar are different types. I would take Prestia over Treloar. He helps players like Lambert et al...

Prestia is good, Treloar is better.
But if we got Treloar we would of also given up the pick that got us Rioli.

Would of been extremely happy with Treloar if we got him, but knowing how things panned out Treloar snubbing us was the best possible outcome.

Better all round player... probobly Treloar but for us meatball suits us better inside grunt work is elite, runs games out like it’s anyones business and has slotted into our team culture wise perfectly

It's a bit of a tricky one. I went Prestia because he was exactly the type of player we needed in our midfield and we probably wouldn't have Caddy if no Presty.

Treloar is a very good player BUT had we have got him we would not have won the flag last year. Prestia complimented our style brought his best mate over which freed dusty and cotch up, not to mention Rioli and Graham.
Sliding doors moment that worked in our favour. I rate Treloar but Meatballs ability to make those around him better stands out out.

Treloar is the better player if you are comparing the two. However, Treloar choosing Collingwood ended up being a positive thing.
Collingwood gave up two picks which got them Treloar and Aish.
With our picks we would of given up to get Treloar we got Rioli, Prestia and Pick 24 which became Josh Caddy.
So although I think Treloar is the best player of them all and Collingwood would be very happy with him, it ended up being a better result for us than just having Treloar.

There’s something about Treloar that reminds me af Dangerfield, probably those bursts and long kicks.
Dangerfields improved onnit but it seemed the more the pressure was on or the more his team was struggling the more he would do that and try and goal from it..bit of a hog.
Prestia strengthens the structure and Treloar is an individual weapon.
I’d take Prestia.

Haha no way. Treloar is a great individual player but he is no where near a better team orientated player. Prestia makes thise around him better Treloar doesnt.

The Op asks who would you prefer. I pick Dion, not because he is a better player but he makes the team better.

Treloar is better but not a whole top 10 pick better. If we had paid that much for Treloar we probably wouldn't have got Caddy or Prestia.
