.....And i won't be there to see him (Watts). Oh well, hope we smash them and show other teams we can be a force to be reckoned with this year and get ourselves back into the 8. :thumbsu:

Intriguing on so many fronts:

1. Jamar holding down the fort v Cox and Niknat (need Johnson to rough them up),

2. Return of the Messiah,

3. LeCras is the biggest threat in their side, not sure which of our boys will shut him down. If we're not careful, he will run riot,

4. Whether Scully and Trengove can back up last week's effort.

Can't wait! Am taking Mum there, hopefully this match will convert her to a Dees member. :D

Things like this get us bagged over on the Weagles board.

...oh well...**** 'em.

I'm very excited for this game. Probably more than the Bulldogs game (higher expectation for a good game and even better result) and definitely more than the Roos game.

Let's be honest, we all want to see Sylvia smash Kennedy (legally though!) and Watts to take a hanger on Naitanui. I'd just be happy with a win though to get our season back on track. We HAVE to win relatively easy games like this if we want to make the 8, knowing that we'll probably lose our fair share of games to top teams.

I think Melbourne will win this round and I'm not one to bag young players (Watts) who need time to develop. But, if Watts is going to take a hanger over Naitanui he'd better hope NN's feet haven't left the ground or he won't get anywhere near his shoulders.;)

My thoughts on the up coming game.

Jamar/Johnson vs. Cox/Naitanui; Jamar in career best form, Johnson just finding his feet against Naitanui who is setting the AFL world alight and Cox regaining form and fitness. Such an important battle, as good ruck work gives your midfielders first advantage, will be an intriguing battle all day.

Green vs. Glass, Green hasn’t been playing as traditional FF, has spent time in the middle also but still is our leading goal kicker, when he is forward I expect glass to go to him.

Bate vs. Mckenzie, bate really stepped up last week after the loss of Petterd, is our main target across CHF and the wing, can we a lot of the ball up the ground and is also dangerous closer to goal.

Kennedy vs Frawley, Kennedy in blistering form, Frawley is our best defender naturally he goes to the best forward (although you could mount an argument LeCras has that title) Kennedy will also need to watch Frawley’s run from defence.

LeCras vs. Garland, Lecras a class player still kicking goals even though he is spending a bit more time in the middle and/or up the ground. Garland has been in solid form since making his return to the side, has marked his opponents well all year. He is lacking a bit of defensive run that he had in 2008.

Davey seems like the only mid fielder who warrants a tag, Adam Selwood seems most likely up for this challenge. All other midfielders will need to play accountable football, should be some good head to head battles as both sides have good young midfielders.

Other keys;

Jack Grimes, I mention him week after week, either coaches don’t put enough time into him to quell his influence or he has a great ability to remain in the contest and not get dragged out of the game.

Shannon Hurn; ditto to Grimes, such a weapon of HBF, despite the attention and effort to get him out of the game he keeps on getting the ball.

Final Verdict; Melbourne by 33 points. Despite our poor efforts over the past two years we have managed to beat the Eagles twice in that time at the MCG, I can’t see it changing. Crucial battle in the ruck, I don’t see the midfield battle as decisive. Whoever makes the most of their opportunities in the forward 50 will win the game.

Good to see Watts playing. Best of luck lads.. Got a feeling you'll do us quite easily.

What a dumb comment. Both teams in similar form. Both teams simillar size and age. This game should only be won in the last ten minutes.

Similar form? Lass, have you been watching footage of WC from yesteryear?

I'm more than happy to be proven wrong though.

btw the password starts with j incase you were skeptical

It should be be good to watch the ruck duels tomorrow !
Jamar kneed the crap out of nic nat last time they played off.

It was very entertaining to watch. As every time nic was contesting the centre sqaure bounce he was looking at jamars knee instead of the ball. full points to the russian during that game.

IF jamar can repeat this the dees will get up.

Go DEEES :thumbsu:

here's a couple of my favs,

* "We wouldn't be trading for him. We'd be taking him in the PSD."

* "It's just sad that we as supporters have desperately resorted to unachievable desires such as somehow prying Scully away from Melbourne. It just ain't gonna happen. I can understand based on our history having these desperate thoughts though."

lol good way to start the weekend with a laugh:thumbsu:

Happy to be outnumbered by four in the crowd at an away game.

Not sure where the Sylvia carry on is coming from. Sylvia has handed out plenty in his time & I was seriously surprised when he intimated in the media that Kennedy should be rubbed out.

Take in on the chin, literally and move on as somehow don't think anyone at WC is losing sleep over being roughed up by Melbourne.

Onto the game, the Dees have clearly picked up some good talent & love their skills. Backline has some serious potential.

WC don't travel, glass moving like an old man and last quarter fade outs mean this is unlikely for us.

I know Watts has copped heaps so far and you lot have had to put up with that, but you're delusional if you think most of it comes from WCE fans. The majority of us wish good things for the lad - it's the rest of the country that dishes it out ad infinitum.

I don't think we're going to win this one, but a good game would be nice. For some reason though we've saved some of our worst football for you guys in the last few years, not the least of which were a couple at the 'G. So anything but an insipid capitulation will be nice.

Oh dear, have you been watching replays of last season????

Melbourne are good, they were a bit stiff to not beat the Dogs & very stiff to not beat the pies....their run off HB has been excellent. A team going places in the next 3 years.

Melbourne by 6 goals today.
