Not mad at all.

Losing Peatling is an absolutely massive blow. He has been by far the best recruit out of the three we stole in the offseason.

We got him (and a future 3rd and 4th) all for a future 2nd round pick. Thats an absolute steal for the player leading the AFL in Goal Assists through 5 rounds.

So is our team to be fair. Curtin, Thillthorpe, Fogarty, Rankine, Draper, and Max all first round picks. Then Soligo and Dawson who play like they're first rounders.

Rachele is proving to be a really big out for us, as we are weak in small forwards
I just feel GWS are a little ahead of us in the development of their list

nah they are no names, they will umpire for affirmation. we will get so much home ground advantage you would think you are at a rock concert.
I think you missed the joke.

Not terrible changes, but what is super annoying and Nick's biggest issues is he's such a slow learner.

How many times must we see Sholl to realise that he can't play under pressure and in big games. It's like Nick's forgets this at the beginning of each season only for the same scenario to play out.

You could say the same about ROB.
It’s round 6. Sholl played 2 decent games and three progressively worsening games and now he’s dropped. That’s lightening speed compared to usual for Nicks. Murphy only got one!

It was an opinion that you chose to take as fact.

You've had a long term disdain for the guy and I'm not sure why that is.

I didn't take it as fact, he said it on the footy show on Sunday morning. He did state it confidently though, didn't bother with a 'reckon' or 'should'. I took it as him being a clueless idiot. A bit like when he didn't seem able to comprehend that not every 10 goal win is a great win. He's just not a bright bloke.

The Laird hate is rusted on. He's worth his place in the side in the backline.
I'd give Milera a spell in the 2s and bring in Bond. He brings something we need and haven't had since Luke Brown retired.

Agree re Laird BUT he'd want to improve on last week.

If he dishes that up a couple more times then he should be under pressure. A senior player, when we don't have too many in that backline, needs to be better.

Also I don't understand why we go in as favourites. We should be huge underdogs.
I think we beat them here pretty easily last year when we were very ordinary.

2 day extra break with the Giants playing in the heat on Sunday probably adds to it, but yes I would have thought we'd be at best line ball in the betting

A 30+ something year old playing his third game in 11 days… is it all that surprising? Tex started brilliantly and didn’t really offer a yelp after half time. Laird has been mostly very good in the back lines this year. Thats his position now as long as he’s performing. Last week was tough for a lot of them.

He was rested at the back end of the Suns game too.

Lairds issue is there's guys lining up to play half back, he needs to perform. I agree his start to the season has been very sound, but unlike Tex who doesn't really have anyone breathing down his neck, he needs to keep up that high level

The risk to both of them isn't individual ability, its role and/or structure. With Tex it's whether we can play 4 tall forwards against the top teams. But that will be resolved by Curtin moving up the ground or out. With Laird it's whether there's benefit in having a high possession, sideways player that can't lock down an opponent. Would we be an overall better defensive side if Laird's style of play was replaced by a more accountable defending type? If you're fixed on the 'Laird role' being important, then he's the only guy in the convo. But if you're not convinced the role itself makes us better, then there's a conversation to be had.

We usually play mostly 3 wingmen... who will be Cumming, Curtin & Nankervis.

With Berry likely to come on as sub, may move one of the other midfielder to a wing like last week & Curtin up forward... but depends who is subbed off.
I’d actually prefer Taylor sub and Berry a centre square role without Peatling this week
