does anyone ever actually read previews of football games? Serious question.
Depends who writes it... serious answer

Several I will just scroll past no doubt

But does anyone do?
If people can read the Chris Scott Coaching thread they can browse a match preview surley. It's a bit of community spirit, don't expect a lot of candidates for the Noble literature prise but there will be some gems among them. Not mine I can guarantee.

It's my 10 year anniversary this year (No presents thanks) and I haven't really contributed much except for a bunch of arguments and plenty of likes...

I'll take Round 16 vs Swans please. :thumbsu:

EDIT: Whoops, make that 9 years.

Ce. You didn't add mine. I already have 822 words written.
Most is about Scott's coaching. The poor use of Bartel. The loopy kicking of Taylor, the confusion with who is our number one ruck, and that Menzel aready has 4 BOG's

Don't get me started on the loopy (or as I call it Lazy) kicking of Taylor

Like most things, I'll read it if I think there's a chance I might learn something, and/or be entertained.
Does a lack of said qualities explain your infrequent presence on the board these days?

Not really. That's always existed. I wouldn't really know if it's been any worse over the past 6-12 months.

I'm not especially interested in being mates with anyone here, meeting up with people from the Geelong board, finding out more about what they're like, what other sports they're interested in, what they do for a living, or when they watched their first Geelong game in person.

When you post on a board where there are hundreds of regulars (such as the main board), there's a lot more playing the ball, and a lot less playing the man, than there is on a club board (unless, of course, you go out of your way to antagonise others). A board full of neutral posters is also a better outlet for a rational football supporter to provide reasoned criticism of their own team, without being shouted down by the gallery. So, what else is left to offer from a club board?

Big Footy in general, and the Geelong board in particular, is a bit like Supercoach to me: I reckon I enjoyed footy a lot more when they didn't play much of a role in my life, when I went months at a time without even looking at them.

Fair enough. Sounds like probably not, but if you have suggestions for improving the place we are very keen to hear them:
