Huh... whats the difference? Discussions where people try and say nothing to challenge (and potentially upset anyone) are the bane of our bloody existence.

Give me a proper discussion in which people whole heartedly state their cases. And if one of them refuses, because their case makes no sense or they have no idea, then by all means call them out. That way they shut up and the discussion/debate can advance....

The problem with the interweb is that everyone thinks all views are equally valid and moderators sometimes stop them from being exposed to the truth. Which is a necessary evil.

I mean we wouldnt want people pointing out that others are semi-illiterate, know nothings who make no worthwhile contributions to anything, at all ... that would be bad. Although, oddly, productive...

Agree totally with you about having discussion about people stating their cases and about having an opinion... and i can almost agree with you about ridiculous posts.
But why to you have to riducule and denigrate posters with opposing views and go to great depths to tell people that you are very knowledgeable and the opposing poster has no idea. In fact WHY do MODERATORS allow people to consistently allow a post to contain denigrating and personally disparaging comments.

I for one don't agree with your position on Priddis but i do enjoy reading your explanation(when you go into depth) because i can at least see the point you are making(i still don't agree with all of it). I enjoy reading Eastern Hills comments as he is also on your side of the argument/discussion and he hasnt stooped to the level of personal fobbing as you tend to.

The problem with the Interweb is that it allows anoynimity and people tend to argue their points and lose some restraints that they most probably wouldn't when in a face to face conversation. If we worked together and you argued your points and then i raised my points and then you personally attacked me then i can assure you our conversations on football would cease instantly.

I for one won't actually put my point forward or try to argue some of your points as i have no interest in being told that i know nothing about football or being insulted by some much greater insult.

The beauty about sport is that their will always be differing points. You can't expect to be allowed to make your view known unless you are politely intending on hearing other peoples points of view as well.

I gave up long ago trying to show an opinion on Priddis. Stats don't mean anything to the Priddis-haters unless its in their favour, because he isn't flashy you can't really draw on specific instances too often, and when he does do something special, its written off as dumb luck.

He is far more composed in traffic than he used to be and quite often will ignore the first option if its a bad one, has the ability to take a tackle and still dispose of the ball but because he is not fast, or doesnt burst through a tackle, it doesnt look good.

In 5 or 6 years on the list, not one person on here can remember a great passage of play, no highlights, no act of brilliance, nothing.

We all remember him consistently getting 30+ posessions with no hurt factor, no impact on play whatsoever.

That's his highlight reel, rubbish disposal, plodder, opposition running off him and hurting us the other way.

A disgrace that this below average plodder wears our jumper. A complete and utter disgrace.

The very last game he played there was a passage he was surrounded by 3-4 Bulldogs players, and ignored a handball to I believe it was Stevens standing still 5 m away and took a quick look and looped a handball over the top to a player running past.

Its not anonymity that makes one less inhibited. I would prefer a lack of anonymity for all. I am more than happy to call an idiot an idiot to their face - no problems at all. It would for example make dealing with relative non-entities like steel easier... i mean in the real world, he'd be, at best, working for me ... and I'd simply fire him

So... We won 21% of our games with Priddus and lost 100% of our games without him.

We won clearences in three of our four wins and we won the clearences in 11 of our 19 games with Priddus.

Not allot changed in rounds 20, 21 and 22. We won the clearences once, drew once and lost once. We smashed Collingwood in the clearences earlier in the year and got spanked.

A simple question. Does Priddus Win us games?

I don't agree with you. Steel is right. Why bother talking up Priddis when all anyone has to say is he finished second in the B&F. He is a worker bee, a very valuable contributor to the team.

Does Priddis win us games? Yes. He gets us first usage of the ball, however our complete incompetance after getting the ball allows us to completely fail.

When you have Priddis get the ball in a center bounce, who normally is in the center square?
Cox/NN
Swift?
Shuey?
Strijk?
Ebert?
Masten?
Stevens?

Wings would be Rosa/Embley

Of those players, those most likely one to get the ball is Ebert. And he is by far one of the worst, if not the worst kick amongst all midfielders (More than 1/2 of his kicks go to the opposition, no hurt factor whatsoever and lots of lovely floaters and dumbass decision making).

Swift has massive kicking issues still. Will be a gun, but doesn't get enough of the ball and his kicking can let him down. Not to mention he's overthinking things. At least he's elite by hand and tries to break the game open. Should get the ball to him more imo, as he really can do some eye catching stuff. Just needs the confidence and more experience.

Shuey doesn't get played in the guts enough. Chuck him in there since he's always at HF. Stick Ebert at HF (since he's a solid overhead mark) and let Shuey come in the mid.

Strijk is elite by foot, stick him in there for stints.

Masten has massive question marks. Still does some smart and good things which are overlooked, but has been stuck at HF and shown nothing as a HF. Needs to be stuck in the guts, also question marks over his kicking.


Stevens is probably in when Priddis isn't. Great inside mid with great tackling skills, most likely not there at all when Priddis gets the ball for us.

Rosa, a 50/50 kick. Generally a decent kick, but can really shank some.

Embley has horrible foot skills now. Completely regressed. Lots of run and carry still in him though (very trademark Embley). Just the disposal is letting him down.

I do understand ball ups have most of those players in there, so I'm keeping it simple with just center bounces. But the fact is that because so many of our players get the ball from the clearance from Priddis, but can't kick the damn ball is why we have lousy opportunities for our forwards to work and thus kick a winning score. Especially for a KPP like Kennedy who has to constantly bend low to try and mark a shoddy kick from a midfielder, or when it simply goes way right, way left or overhead like Ebert's kicks.

Priddis does help us win games, but his deficiencies are only highlighted because of our young midfield. Just like many players in Geelong who are probably 2nd/3rd stringers, but only look rather elite because the other players are there to hide their deficiencies.

Priddis does have deficiencies, I just think that they're exentuated (is that even a word?) with a young midfield, and all this Priddis hate isn't justified. He atleast knows what he can do and doesn't try to attempt anything he know he can't handle. And unlike Ebert, he'll handball it off to a guy who's a better kick than him.
