Priddis

Have to say it was very refreshing seeing our mids operate without Predictable Priddis in the centre. Scarey thing is he's still fairly young, this could go on for another 3 or 4 years, particularly if woosha stays on. Our club really needs some new ideas.

Well, seeing as our finals hopes are all but gone, I'd like them to continue experimenting with the midfield.

or as we like to call it. Tank.

Nah, Priddis has a redeeming quality that Scooter does not have. He takes clean possession of the ball. Im hopeful that Scooter corrects this then yeah he is the best of the 3. If not, then Scooter is forever doomed to be tagger.

Priddis hasn't had as clean hands this year. Scooter has pace and can be a tagger. Which isn't such a bad role, in saying that Scooter was a amazing through early 2012. There is no reason why he can't return to such form.

Why you gotta hate on yaz bro?

Did you watch Carlton v Fremantle last night? or any game he's played in prior to 2011?

He has a few favorable attributes, he's quick. But he's super linear footballer, who can't read stoppage play and doesn't work hard enough to compensate for it.

Yarran's good, but will cost us quite a bit.
Would rather use a second/third pick on Garlett rather than a first round pick on Yarran, and I don't think we have enough stock to trade to get Yarran without using that first pick.

A statistical career comparison between Josh Hill and Chris Yarran at the age of 22/23.

Interesting comparison, but they're different roles. We need Yarran for his speed and crumbling ability we currently lack.
We'll probably have to use our first rounder for him. Don't think we have anything of value to trade to Carlton

Priddis being slow and not a very good kick can be worked with ala less kicking more handballs. Its his complete lack of defensive pressure that I hate his opponent just runs off him like he is bloody casper

They're different roles? they have different skills but they play similar roles.

Will he perform better in Perth?

Malthouse has asked him to put in the hard yards and try to play as forward and play team football, why would we want him if he asks for an exit? If Carlton don't want him then they can have our third rounder or keep him for another year. He's been in the system nearly five years and he has very few runs on the board playing as an unaccountable defender.

We can get someone like Cripps, Robertson or Acres with our second round pick. Guys with ability, work rate and application.

There is no way in hell i would pay our first rounder for yarran. I do however think he would perform much better in a different environment and would be willing to risk our second plus a sweetener.
I agree. Malthouse has sent him back to the ressies on a number of occasions and has identified quite a few deficiencies in his game. Yes he's fast but he has a poor attitude. There is no way we should forego a first rounder for him.

Yarran is EXACTLY the type of player we need.

FFS just look at his game against us at subi earlier this year. he basically beat us single handedly.

he would OWN subi oval. our team lacks pace so badly it's farcical. if Yarran is even remotely attainable we should throw everything we can up to get him. first round pick and more if necessary.

but we would train him to be an endurance athlete and he would lose his speed anyhow

The same kind of thing could have been levelled at wirrapunda, and look at what a legend he became.

I don't think anyone could ever say Wirra had a poor attitude. He simply lost form and was sent back to East Perth to regain it, which he did very quickly. If you read what is said about Yarran on the Carlton board, then you will realise that he has serious deficiencies and is definitely not worth a first round pick. I am not saying we shouldn't go after him but we need to be realistic about what we offer for him.

I shed a tear as the game started, no Priddis in the team!

My god was it a pleasure watching our midfield without that hack in it. The midfield load was spread, everyone had defined roles, midfield was able to play offensively and defensively. No one got torched on the spread.

My dear Lord, the difference one player makes!

I cried myself to sleep that night, not haunted by the constant helicopter kicks to no one, the dicky little 1m handballs that sell the opposition into trouble and getting torched on his defensive game. The rucks were able to tap to a plethora of players, not to the one most one dimensional player on our roster.

The Players voted with their game, "We don't want him".

Hams had a great game. Tears it up in the WAFL as a midfielder. And gets put in the Eagles HFF, all because Matt F**** Priddis cannot play anwhere else except the no 1 Midfield role in the guts!

"But, but, but... Matt the Klanger Priddis gets 25 posessions and 10 clearances a game, there is no one that replace him".

The intellectually challenged people on here have been found out.

May these be the start of his omission.

RIP Matt the F**** Clanger Ploddus

Firstly on Yarran, rumor has it, Good mates with Nic Nat is trying to entice him back home, and the idea of coming home may entice the clubs to do a deal, How much value do you place on Him?
Well I bet the bullies didn't expect Hill to do what hes done, come good and excelled.
Would Yarran make the same improvement? I think YES, we lack that fast release from half back, he would fit this role perfectly, we could do a deal & offload Smith & Bulter, WCE get the deal done.

Priddas will be hard to shift, but I think even Woosha has come to terms with the need to rebuild midfield , I think the end of season review will be brutal, he may find himself looking for a new home, if we are serious about attracting some speed through there.

It better be brutal or we are bound to become irrelevant

Yarran types don't win you finals.

Throwing away our first pick at him would be utterly moronic.
