I think we should organise an annual football match with Pro and Anti Priddis members of this board. The winner gets not only the braging rights but they get to be right for the next 12 months.

We can repeat this game on a annual basis and raise money for charity? In absence of playing an actual game maybe someone can recommend a virtual online game :) that we can use to resolve this.

I'd be up for the game. Let me play on Rids. It'll be all over really quickly. The footballer v the stats geek.

It needs to be a real game on a real oval with real contests. And I'm old.

Wellingham kicked a couple of nice goals, but he also had several horrendous turnovers, some of which resulted in opposition scores. Not surprised he wasn't in the coaches votes.

If he learns to play within his abilities, he may actually be a useful depth player for a few years. He seems to be deluded into thinking he has the skills of Gary Ablett or Darren Jarmen sometimes though.

Which ones were those?

Are you making a funny? You're talking about the 1 player who has actually shown Flair, Pace, and some Precise kicking over the last 3 weeks.

I mean, you're talking about Wellingham right? Not Priddis?

False. I think you'll find Priddis will go very very close to winning our B&F this season. There will only be three games where he won't poll well - Port (injured early on); Richmond (was horrible); and Gold Coast (didn't play) - every other game you'll find he will be amongst our best players. To change your comparison slightly - same amount of possessions but Priddis wins a much greater share of his in contested situations. I would have Kennedy and MacKenzie just ahead of him but Priddis should beat Masten comfortably (actually I think Masten might finish 5th as Darling will surprise with how highly his 'quiet' games are rated by the coaches and may nab 4th or even 3rd).

Nowhere in my comment did I say Priddis wouldn't come close to winning the B'n'F. In fact, I said: "Priddis has been his usual...". Given it's Priddis serving up more of the same, it likely comes with more of the same in B'n'F voting, too. What I did differentiate is that Masten's play this year has been on a level above that of Priddis', which of course, given how the B'n'F votes are awarded, won't be recognized.

Our B&F favours games played first then form second. Anyone who plays 22 games every year is always a decent chance.

Given the number of votes he gets from his coach Matts likely to do well.

Lots of middling midfielders at poorish teams do well in B&F's. Changes nothing. He's the wrong guy for the role he plays IF winning a flag is our goal. If working hard and giving our all and being conpetitive but ultimately pretty average is our goal he is fine...

Haha funnily enough if you are who I think you are (I was a bit of a Subi tragic for a long time there) we probably would line-up on each other as I was a '3rd tall' defender back in the day (CHB or HBF depending on how strong our talls were) ... but given I never made it past amateurs I don't like my chances - to be honest I would be concentrating mainly on the sledging side of the game ;)

Mate I'm old... Sledging is all I have left ... that and post match drinking :)

It's going on 7 years since I last played - shall we just bugger the footy off and go straight to the post match drinking? Obviously the sledging (Pridda based or otherwise) will still remain as an equally important part of the 'post-match' drinks.

A mere spring chicken, but even at your age I have to inform you that from here on it's pretty much all down hill.

Was at the game and he was exceptionally poor.

Turnovers, an inability to win the ball cleanly (he wasn't alone there though), and the fact that only 3 of his 29 touches were clearances means either he was the link-up player (UGH) or on occasion, cast as the line breaker. Going head to head with Stevie J, who had 30+ touches and 7 tackles.

By engineering our ruck and tapwork around this midfielder we are doing a disservice to our young players (and their self-confidence) going forward. We need to give them the initiative to take the leading roles in our midfield, as Priddis simply isn't dynamic, creative or consistent enough to anchor a midfield.

He was lousy. He had no chance head-to-head against someone like Stevie J. But like others said, wasn't alone in that one.

Plays his 150th this week. Has there ever been a more polarising player to reach that milestone for us?
