I've been saying the same thing on facebook non stop since i read that article.
How Worsfold can come out and say that a total champ like Kerr needs to do more is beyond me.
Why doesn't he mention that Embley and A.Selwood are total spuds or anything about Cox non stop playing for free's?
When Kerr plays, he tries harder then all 3 of them.

yeah he is past his best, but he is still a good contributer when he is on the park, and in terms of effort he is at the top of the tree. if we are picking up the slack for daniel kerr, what the **** are we are doing when adam selwood gets burnt by just about every footballer shorter than 200cm in the competition? he must be like lugging a tree around.

Yeah I would of thought a fit guy waving his arms for frees is worthy more of a roast.
Woosha has lost me with the public criticism of Kerr. If he's going to lay into Kerr for not covering enough ground, then why not criticise guys like Priddis & Rosa for consistently poor ball use?

all i'm saying that there are flaws in Rosa's game (one of which is his ball use/decision making). yet he's never been singled out by Woosha for criticism, much less been forced to play in the twos when he's fit.
so why do it to Kerr, who is a proven champion.

Back on the topic of Priddis. as i see it, the biggest counter-argument to him being detrimental to our side is the port adelaide game when he got KO'd.
Our other mids had the chance to step up and what happened? we got SMASHED in the middle. no question, our midfield looked WORSE without Priddis' presence. how much can we read into that? maybe a lot, maybe nothing.
Priddis may in fact be holding us back, but he's not our worst midfielder and he does have attributes/qualities that are beneficial to us that most of other mids don't possess (strength in contest, clean hands, ability to read the ball off hands, etc)

short term, i would say almost certainly we would struggle without him. but i think guys with the talent of masten, shuey, selwood, wellingham would get upto speed playing that sort of role pretty quickly and still with a lot more scope for improvement.
the facts are to win a premiership (and that is all anyone cares about) you need to build a midfield around a bloke who is in the top ten or so players in the league. it's harsh, but thats the way it is.

Kerr - equal 279th in average tackles per game at only 2.7 - quite bad for a midfielder who wins most of his ball inside.
Priddis - equal 10th in average tackles per game at 6.6
Think that might be the area Woosha was talking about.

Depends on which side of the Priddis fence one sits.
Vast majority tend to be Priddis Lovers or Priddis Haters. I'm simplifying the thoughts.
As a Priddis Lover, your post seems legit.
As a Priddis Hater - the flipside of what you see, others see that for 2 and 1/2 quarters, our young midfield, given a chance, smashed Port Adel to bits. It's not until, approx, 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter we came unstuck.
The lovers will use that turning point to see we are lost without Priddis. The Haters will say it was the one less midfield rotation, one less rotation for the whole game, that saw us run out of legs.
And yes, I'm on the hating side.

You are quite happy to take pot shots at Kerr yet you'll leap to Priddis's defense.
Your love child is guilty of everything Kerr is being criticized for yet escapes any sort of attention for it.

Do I need to go find the threads where people (not just Eagles supporters) were touting him as future brownlow medalist, absolute gun etc? He was very highly rated after his first season. He's still highly rated. I see him in Eagles' best every other week. For some reason people thought he was an absolute gun and even now some people think he's a gun.
When did I leap to Priddis defense? I gave up that hobby years ago!
Also, did you actually read Worsfold's comments?

Looking back to when he started all those years ago, Priddis's value was as the B Grade Midfielder. Sat on the bench and gave Judd, Cousins & Kerr a rest. And whilst he was giving those players a rest, the club would call it a "win" if the side / midfield broke even, whilst the superstars were having a rest.
And of course, Priddis has gone on to be our No.1 Midfielder, the position this club has banked all their vanilla custard decision making on. They, the Coach, the MC, have tried to polish a Turd, and it hasn't worked, despite how hard they try.
