Right you muppets, time to put the last of the dying "Priddis is great" in your place.

He's a liability. People have been saying this for over 5 years:

Why can't the you see this?

The match committee know more than his detractors? This is the same MC that still picks Adam Selwood so you're clutching at straws there.

So why do so many think he is shit and go mental over him all the time?

In a nutshell, because he is detrimental to our team's balance, style of play, and development. He's so ****ing slow his only trick is to get the ball in tight conjestion. Means our ruckmen are tapping it down to him and he's getting wrapped up. If somehow he gets a clearance the opposition have plan B - drop a guy a few meters inside the square at their CHB because sure enough Priddis will blindly snap it to that same "hotspot".

Do you remember when Judd used to grab a clearance, run out of the centre and hit up a lead or kick a goal. Well because of Priddis and the style we play to accommodate him, none of our midfielder really have that opportunity. I see all the other teams get really good clearances. We very really get clean clearances. It's because of the way we play to accommodate Priddis.

We should have traded him 6 years ago, 5 years ago, 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago, last season, and this one coming.

There's a lot of things wrong with the Eagles on field right now but it all stems from our midfield and the centrepiece of that midfield is Priddis. Move Priddis out and we can start playing a more damaging brand of footy.

I just can't believe how badly Woosha has got it wrong for 5 years. And don't bother sticking up for him - this is a guy who has been playing Selwood for the last 4 years as well.

Time for you Priddis lovers to learn something about footy.

Unfortunately we lack someone who is as good at exactly what Priddis is in the side for.

Even more unfortunately around the ground Priddis is a liability and offsets the benefits he brings to the table by missing targets and stagnating our run by being so slow (both in decision making and actual pace). The sooner we can replace him the better off we'll be.

Maybe if someone other than Priddis gets a go in the guts we will uncover somebody. This talk is all pointless because the club is ingrained with him.

I think this is 100% myth.

We don't want a like for like replacement. We want a functioning midfield (that's like 4 dudes in the centre square as opposed to 2) that get win ADVANTAGEOUS CLEARANCES. We rarely win them with Priddis at the bounce because the way we have to set up with him DOESN'T WORK.

Hardly any midfields have 1x mega extractor. They have a group of 4 guys at a time who can work together to get a clearance. No point in having the same dude get the ball all the time and either be wrapped up or snap it blinding to the opposition's set play (yep, they all worked us out 3 years ago)

Take Priddis out and our midfield structure, set plays, and the way we play changes. For the better.

The sooner we can replace him the better off we'll be.

Yep, but I don't think we need to replace him with some sort of Extractorsaur. Just need to set the midfield up differently.

In 2013 you don't need a like for like replacement, we'd generate more scoring shots off the half back flank from turnovers coming from the oppositions additional ineffective center clearances. Around the ground you'd fast and have better disposal.

I also think you have a more dynamic midfield mix, with more pace generated from stoppages and that will translate into more effective clearances with greater separation and higher disposal efficiency for outside midfielders, our receivers won't be caught flat footed waiting so much and that has flow on effects down field.

You can have midfielders like Priddis, they just need to be 188cm and 88Kg or more. But when they get that big they're marking becomes better, they're harder to push off the ball, they're quick kicks are more efficient and they can get their hands free under physical duress.
 
He was actually pretty damn crap today. Got plenty of the footy but was just a shocking user.

31 touches for 80 odd SC points, or something. Tells a tale.

I just remember every kick he did was either his 'priddis special snap kick' or a high floater. His kicking is sub par, we all know that. No, what made his game so poor for me was his hands. Soooo many times i saw him get it and turn it over with his hands which is usually his best trait.

I reckon his 2011 was (surprisingly, I didn't see it coming) a lot better than his 2006-2010 - and he's gone backwards a fair bit since then.

During our best footy of the past 2-3 years we've looked most damaging with NN, Kerr, S Selwood and Shuey in the centre square. I'd be surprised if Kerr plays on in 2014, so a spot opens up in our arguable best rotation. On 2013 form the logical replacement is Masten, but you can guarantee it will be Priddis.

Would a 50 game Hutchings be better? Maybe. Would Ebert/Stevens playing on the ball instead of half forward or in the WAFL be better? Maybe. Is Masten who is already in the side better? Yes. Stubborn as they are I'm staggered the match committee don't seem to see this.

I'm not sure there are many people who are happy with him being in the team at all? As it stands though, we don't have a huge amount of mids on the list. I'd love for Masten to take his place in the middle, but he's found his way in there now without Priddis being moved on.

His flaws are pretty obvious for everyone to see though surely.

You're missing the point. This is not a case of "I'm finally right now that he has lost a bit of form" but more a "I/we have always been right and now that it is not only undeniable but also massively frustrating it's time to really get in the face of the deluded who still believe.

Our season was done in round 5 but right now everyone knows our weakness is our midfield. Lot of people mad because they know the problem is Priddis (or more to the point Woosha for building a midfield around him) and IT PISSES US OFF that there are still people doing the "but he's good bro".

He's not and the muppets who think he is need to be told.
