The match committee know more than his detractors? This is the same MC that still picks Adam Selwood so you're clutching at straws there.

So why do so many think he is shit and go mental over him all the time?

In a nutshell, because he is detrimental to our team's balance, style of play, and development. He's so ****ing slow his only trick is to get the ball in tight conjestion. Means our ruckmen are tapping it down to him and he's getting wrapped up. If somehow he gets a clearance the opposition have plan B - drop a guy a few meters inside the square at their CHB because sure enough Priddis will blindly snap it to that same "hotspot".

Do you remember when Judd used to grab a clearance, run out of the centre and hit up a lead or kick a goal. Well because of Priddis and the style we play to accommodate him, none of our midfielder really have that opportunity. I see all the other teams get really good clearances. We very really get clean clearances. It's because of the way we play to accommodate Priddis.

We should have traded him 6 years ago, 5 years ago, 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago, last season, and this one coming.

There's a lot of things wrong with the Eagles on field right now but it all stems from our midfield and the centrepiece of that midfield is Priddis. Move Priddis out and we can start playing a more damaging brand of footy.

I just can't believe how badly Woosha has got it wrong for 5 years. And don't bother sticking up for him - this is a guy who has been playing Selwood for the last 4 years as well.

Time for you Priddis lovers to learn something about footy.

Im sure Hitler had his fans , but a little group called 'the resistance' had other ideas.
Its a free country with free speech or don't you subscribe to this way of life ?

Fans can say what ever they like ( within reason of decency)about a footy player,
We don't all have to like what Woosha is doing, and how hes molded this team.
Lets face it, we allways look at others who are better and ask , Why arn't we the same or better?
Its human nature to always want to improve and question how we can .
We've taken big steps backward this year and the reasons are there for everyone to see.
Blind freddy can see we've got huge midfield problems and yes Pridda is one of the cogs that is affecting it.
So lighten up, you might learn something .

Bizarre post. Try to keep up mate. I'm not suggesting our midfield isn't a problem. I never thought we'd win a flag. Have thought for the last few years that the midfield was the weak link.

But unlike you lot I don't consider Priddis the main problem. I don't think we've drafted well. As a consequence there's no pressure on Priddis. He's undoubtedly worth his place. And when he plays a good game he deserves credit. That's all mate - not so hard to understand is it?

No mention of censorship by me. So what if I don't rate your opinions and I criticise them?! So what?! You lot mock those that defend Priddis. Well don't give it out if you can't take it.

As I mentioned in the other thread, statistically (champion data ranking points which measure a player's effectiveness and impact on a game) taking out the PA game Priddis has the highest average of any Eagle mid, is in the top 30 midfielders in the comp and ahead of Goddard, A.Swallow, Deledio and Judd to name a few.

Is Priddis a star? No. He suffers from the fact that we don't have the top end talent in our midfield right now. However those calling him a spud, useless, a detriment to the team, etc are off the mark.
 
I think we can safely assume the following:

1. Woosha will continue on as coach next year and probably the year after
2. Woosha will never, ever, under any circumstances drop Priddis
3. Priddis will not get injured, he is EXTREMELY durable.

As such, we have at least another 44 games plus the remainder of this season with Priddis in our side. For better or worse. This is going to be a long thread.

i've always said that the biggest problem with Priddis is the fact that he's our best midfielder. we should have 2-3 mids better than him, but we don't. hence our midfield sucks a$s

There is truth in this. As you pointed out in your earlier post he is rather durable, he's the kind of midfielder that clubs love because he can go all day, accumulate and is rarely injured. The issue is we are using him as our A grade which we know he is not. If he is at some point no longer our focal point in the middle, what role does he play? I saw on fox he is the top clearance player, but those stats are largely useless, I'd like to see a 'clearance to advantage or goal' stat.
Doggies kept him rather quiet. Maybe we should be using Wellers in that type of role, but differently set up to actually take advantage of a fit NN's taps?
