Weren't we sniffing around him the year before last.

Gives me the ****'s that the slime go ahead and choose what looks like another very good midfielder with all their riches already in that possie.

Played great again tonight and would have been very handy in purple over the last few years.

Which of our mids is better than this guy?
Who did we choose in front of him? did he get to WCE via the rookie list?

We promoted him off the rookie list last year.

To be honest I don't know how he would fit in with your midfield - he is a slowish in and under type - where you are more in need of fast outside receivers.

Must say though I'm glad he's with us and not you.

Gotta agree with Keyser Soze, im not sure where Priddis would fit into our midfield. Good player but probably not what Fremantle need.

Priddis is genuine class.....
..and to think a player that good has had trouble getting first team for the slime, which shows the strength of there mid field when up and running. He still has speed - not like Kerr, but faster than some of our mid fielders and a clean set of hands.
I would have Priddis at Freo in a heartbeat. He would look good in purple and be first team, guaranteed.

I agree. I like this guy a lot and it sh*ts me no end that we never recruited him when even 2 years ago cracks and age was starting to catch up with our midfield. Steven Armstrong as well. He came back from Melbourne and no-one seemed to be all that interested in him. Both would have been great pickups. Jeez I hate saying that. It would be interesting to see who we got that year

Nah he'd get a game for sure, he would in most sides off sheer ball winning ability alone.

I was surprised Freo weren't the ones to role the dice on Matty - I was sure you were going to grab him the season before we did. He really has had an excellent season and has improved his weaknesses which held him back from getting an AFL spot to begin with, I guess he's one of those types that proves being a natural footballer is sometimes better than being a natural athlete. Just has to back it up next season now, I see some opposition supporters rolling out the usual line about playing in a great team ra ra ra but really the guy has stood up and taken on a major role as we've rarely had the midfield at full strength all season, he deserves credit for that.

yes I relise you lot don't really want to hear me pumping up Pridda's tires, sorry, I got going. ;).

Yep he would definitely be in our team, and in just about every team in the league. He wins the ball himself and can kick a goal from 40-50 out. Exactly what we need.

It doesn't surprise me that Freo didn't recruit him. After all, how would our recruiting staff found him, he played for such an obscure team. Who in WA has heard of Subiaco? And we have anointed McManus "midfielder for life" anyway

like being a key part in a win against St Kilda i presume?;)

Which is why I cannot understand why some fellow Freo supporters would have him in the team.
It's not like that was a one of effort for Priddis...

I'm hoping Harvey and his new regime are scouring the WAFL and other state leagues for talent this year. Surely there could be another mid fielder gem or perhaps Full Back to uncover somewhere raring for a crack at AFL....

Freo were never interested in Priddis. He would fit into your team VERY well I think

Unlike all your current midfielders he is a absolute clearance machine. You have struggled in clearances at times and Priddis would of went a long way to helping that. Freo were not the only club who let him slip away though

2004 we did a lot of trading and rookie elevation so National draft we only took Benet Copping Toby Stribling and Redrafted Daniel Haines.
2005 Jarrad Schofield Pre season. then Duffield (who was already on the Rookie list) Jack Juniper, Joe Krieger, Stribling to Rookie List.
Some real class there, we really know how to pick them.
FWIW Priddis was in the top 3 for all games in the 2003 U18 State team, the two hardest workers over the carnival were Jacob Surjan and Priddis, both overlooked in initial selections, both have made it through hard work and perseverence.

Hey Hoogs!

What do you think of Priddis after this season, where you would have to admit he has performed pretty well and pretty consistantly?

You took great delight in telling us that he wouldn't get a game at Freo early on in the season. Has your opinion changed?

Hey West Coast 06

Does it matter if a Freo fan wouldnt have Priddis. I have seen slime supporters post they wouldnt have Pav's & would prefer the big Q :o:eek: . So why does it matter to you? Are you so precious about each and every player?

Rubbish. Find me a post of a WC supporter saying that and I'll stand corrected.

It was in general banter over on the main boards or in 13. It was a while ago - but I assure you it was there. It was most likely the useless banter that Freo' & Slime Supporters through back and forth at each other - but it was typed. Freo get a lot of hate on the boeards, mainly led by you guys and your whacky fellow WC troll posters.

Why would you be surprised at such a comment being made?

QL21, Would you have the Q or Pav at WC? One or the other?

Well, if I had to choose, obviously I would pick Pavlich because he's one of the best CHF's in the league. Ideally we would have Pavlich at CHF and Lynch at FF.

That may give you a clue. Every team in the league would jump at a chance to have Pav in their team.

I was just asking if Hoogs was still of the same opinion or not. He seemed very convinced at the beginning of the year.

I love Priddis's work ethic but in the serious light of day look at the Eagles and Dockers midfield to see where Priddis would fit.

Eagles have 3 speedsters ( Kizon, Kerr & Judd ), so there is room for a slower skillful player. Dockers don't have alot of speed, but a couple of trundlers. Priddis has a spot made for him at the Eagles, at the Dockers we already have his type of player, we need speedy legs.

Priddis fits in well at Eagles midfield rotations, and is also a very humble person.
