They were NEVER going to draft tamper again after the GWS debacle.

Aside: At least to the extent they handed the Hawks, who btw were lucky recipients of a talented list built through draft pick PLUS PP prior to GWS coming along.
They road on the coat tales of the NEXT three years of drafting being absolutely compromised.
Im sure we wont get one if we finish with 5 wins or more. If we lose to GC then its on the cards.

Our finish to the season will rule us out IMO.
I hope so.
TBH we have such a great list now. Get Papley and Im done. Cogs is a pipedream but we can be good without him.

If the other 2 clubs ask and receive a PP, I very much doubt the AFL will allow the question of whether Blues should have been awarded a PP to go through to the keeper purely on the basis of failure to ask; they’d be asking, and asking, and asking us to ask them. Until then I’d prefer we don’t ask.
I can't see Saints getting one. Even they don't believe it.

I don’t think we need or deserve one...
I’m not sure the Suns do but if it means Adelaide moving back another pick in the draft, so be it. Blues have enough young talent. Complimented though the trades and free agency this year I hope re: Papley, Martin and Cogs (a man can dream).

Pretty sure they got pick 19, after the first round was completed...........but if the afl give out picks this year(?) I would imagine it being after the first 10 picks and whoever gets them (see:G.C.) should have to trade them for older players, otherwise it is only more 18 year olds being added to young lists that are crying out for experienced players........just my thoughts, but now Carlton are off the bottom it lets the powers that be off the hook and look what they gave us last year when we ended last..........

Don't need one. Anyone looking at how we are playing now knows that next year is going to be something special from the Blues. Everyone this year is talking about the resurgence of Brisbane, but they have been rebuilding since 2014 and all their pieces have fallen into place.
SOS has built this list. We get Cogs and another experienced mid to help Cripps, and we will be knocking on the door to the 8 next year... maybe even pinching 8th spot.
So... accepting a PP from the AFL suggests that we still think that we need help from them. But, if we got one and used it to secure Cogs... then I am going to be laughing all the way to the finals!

The club need to remind them at AFL HQ why they didn’t give us one last year when by every single measure imaginable we needed one.
The club needs to be very strong on this, give the suns an extended salary cap and off field soft cap, continue to put in money to get their facilities up to scratch and anything else that will actually help them.
They’ve picked the eyes out of the draft significantly more than we have over the last 4 years, they do not need another kid
Priority picks should be reserved for absolute basket cases. That is not us.
Any team capable of going 4-2 in a 6 game block in the back-half of the season (when young teams often decline) whilst missing 3-5 of their best-22 each match should be rightfully ruled out.
We don't need one and it sends the wrong message just as we are turning the corner belief-wise.

Carlton won't be getting a priority pick. We don't need it, they know we don't need it.
St Kilda won't be getting a priority pick. They don't deserve it, we all know they don't deserve it.
Gold Coast will get a priority pick of some kind, probably with conditions (ie. must be traded). It won't help them.
The problem for GC is they lack any kind of identity in the competition. How was the atmosphere whenever they kicked a goal against us on the weekend - you could have heard a pin drop in the subsequent silence. They play in front of less than 12000 people on average at home, and I reckon close to half that number are opposition/neutral supporters. How depressing must it be, to have made the top level in your sport, and when you do something well on-field nobody cares?
They're stuck in a horrible cycle now - while they're losing games they're going to struggle to attract/retain players and fans, and while they struggle to attract/retain players and fans they're going to struggle to improve on-field.
If the AFL really wants to get them out of this hole, they need to find a way to convince 3-4 high quality players to head north and join the Suns on moderate salaries. And then they need to surround them with some real pricks who like to play a bit dirty.

From what was reported last year there were 16 clubs who kicked up a stink about the possibility of us receiving a PP. We had the worst season since Fitzroy on the back of several poor seasons. Gold Coast have had enough picks, they have enough talented kids. They chose to trade May last year for draft picks, something that went against us last year.
How can the AFL possibly give them one when we missed out last year?
