I think the question should be who will make way for Wojcinski?

No one has to make way for him, he's already in the team!

my bad, was rushing off to catch the last quarter of the nba and was just quickly typing.

wojak was supposedly rested as he did not play vfl, so yeah, the question beckons, "who will make way for wojak"?

Definetly Varcoe. He has shown alot of promise, but Thompson has also shown that he has no problem dropping young players so they can get a run around in the 2's. gamble is one example of someone who fitted nicely into our team but got rested. I wouldnt be surprised if Loners gets a bit of a rest too.

Varcoe and Wojcinski don't play the same end of the ground,so it wouldn't be Varcoe to make way for Wojcinski.

I rate prismall very highly, and seeing as he is struggling atm to crack a permanent spot in your 22 i would be sick if we dont go hard at him during the trade period.
What are your thoughts on trading him?

#8,the guy who couldn't hit a target

did josh play that badly, obviously a bit rusty after being out a couple weeks but took a few strong marks.

the problem is that if wojak replaces hunt he plays in that last line of defence where he is not suited and too unaccountable.

I don't really think that it would upset team balance if Monica came in for Varcoe, the players are pretty versatile these days and can play most positions. I doubt that it would upset the team structure too much if that change did happen.

I agree with you on the #8 he'd be my 2nd choice for sure, he was pretty ordinary on the weekend but at the same time i'd hate to see him get dropped after just 1 game back from injury.

For what it's worth i reckon it'll be an unchanged team this week anyway.

I thought Josh 'Emo' Hunt was quite solid on the weekend, and without Scarlett i thought he became the leader of the backline.

He was definitely rusty, but i really think he's vital when Scarlett isn't there.

GO PRISMALL!
As stated previously after his 1st game back in the seniors, he belongs there and after last weekend i prove my case. 32 possessions (and he's number 32) shows that he can match it with the big names. give him more games in the seniors and he will be a household name.
We need to looks seriously at what Varcoe is doing for the team... all he is known for is his takles which means he is always 2nd to get to the ball. prismall, if we are lucky enough to keep him has shown that he can get to the ball and dispose of it to a team mate. Its all about the team game to him and he fits that role unlike some (Varcoe).
Well done Prismall and congratulations

obviously. that's why the messiah has played all 12 games, no?

They have given guys like Byrnes an opportunity to prove themselves at AFL level. It's only recently the selectors have bit the bullet and dropped experienced players (Monica; Byrnes - although he is injured) to allow the younger, more skilful players to prove themselves (Varcs and Pris). It would've been stupid to have played Pris and Varcoe all year ahead of Wojcinski and Byrnes, no?

Wojak not playing in the twos would indicate soreness / injury to me.

From memory, the Woosh appeared to slightly twang a hamstring against Carlton on one of his trademark runs out of the backline, perhaps he's carrying a niggle at the moment and they can afford to rest him now - he'll bring X Factor to the team during the finals.

This is true, but I can't think of any reason why Wojcinski couldn't play the same role as Varcoe, and most likely do it more effectively.

Boils down to putting our best twenty two on the park IMO, and if the selectors want to tweak the side a little to retain guys like Prismall then Wojcinski could possibly be asked to play that small forward role; not saying it will happen, just that there's no reason why he wouldn't make a good fist of it.

The coaches are playing him aren't they? That would answer your question.

his 3rd game for the year...he had only played 1 game out of the first ten rounds. obviously the coaches and selection panel did not think he had been more than solid up to that point.

No, they just had to give more experienced guys a shot first, isn't that the logical thing to do?

must be the same thing with tenace then!!!

i think even the most ardent prismall fans have said that he was languishing in the vfl because he was not doing the things asked of him by the coaching staff.
