Reruiting blunders? Nearly everyone said getting Prismall for pick 39 was a bargain, I'm sure you would have also. His poor form/attitude is not the recruiters fault. Prismall was cheap and could still turn out a good trade.

The bad recruits we have made have been Hislop, .... can't think of any others, with Williams and Pris still up in the air. pretty handing recruiting I would say.

Welcome addition to big footy. Good call. Recruiting has been very good over last few years.
I admit Prismall does frustrate me but he obviously is doing something right. Similar category to Dyson for mine. Should be better but must be doing their job as they keep getting games. The selectors have not been afraid to cut people who under perform no matter when they were picked up ie Williams.
WTF @ Hurley's name being mentioned? I thought he gave a very solid showing out of the backline today. Showed some excellent poise, speed (which I didn't see before) and vision. Our backline in general was very good. Hocking sensational, Pears, Hurley, Dempsey (bar the 2x50m penalties), Atkinson, were all solid/good in my books.
I'm with you Godzke, Hurley was solid. How Prismall was better than him I don't know. Prizza was flat out ordinary and as mentioned, he has been all year. I don't care how many touches he got, some of those errors he made under no pressure were astounding. Slicing kicks, handballing to noone in the back pocket etc.
Stanton still cops a grilling for "butchering the ball" why is Prismall getting a free pass from some? Disposal has simply not been good enough.

Not getting him at all would have been a zillion times better. Fairly easy to look good next to Ablett, Bartel, Champman, Selwood, Corey..etc. He is soft, end of story. Remind me the logic going after a soft as butter player! Williams has been a shocking recruit, although it has been softened somewhat with Colyer's form. Mind you I'd still rather not get him. But he is not the worst one. Did not complain on Hislop as we got 4 out of 5 right in that draft.

Got the ball plenty of times today and anyone who criticises a players disposal in those conditions today has never played wet weather football.

Prismall consistently finds the footy and he doesn't butcher it anywhere near 15 times. Four or five times yes, but not 15.
Even if he was butchering it 6 or 7 times, his net output is still greater than Howlett who goes missing for large periods of time.
Zero impact?
He was the best big forward on the ground and kicked two soft first quarter goals.
Prismall didn't waste the ball today anymore than Watson did.
I've said it before but there are two things working against Prismall:
Firstly, he has come from another club and has taken from a player hat everyone here wants in the side.
Secondly, he is an accumulator and is not a hard enough player to endeer himself to the supporters. As an accumulator he needs to be at 80% plus with his disposal efficiency ad I am not talking about diluted Herald Sun rubbish either.
It is really pissing me off that Houli doesn't get the opportinuty to chase a kick at VFL and AFL level because it has been decided that he needs to be a defensive players. Prismall on the other hand has sulked, been dropped, continued to sulk, was given his spot in the side back and still nothing has changed.
As I wrote out Houli's name it also struck me that Howlett is not a favourite and among the first to be dropped every week. Why don't either of these two guys get the opportunity to play what is essentially a free role. We give it to a guys who cannot dispose of the ball well enough to be in the side.
It is really hard not to be xenophobic and want players EFC drafted in the side when it comes to Prismall.

Didn't see the game myself. Listened to it on the radio and was utterly confused every time McVeigh kicked it to Jetta.

Jesus Christ, I'm normally on his case, but I thought he was OK today. Not great, because there were a couple of poor kicks, but on the whole he was fine IMO.

He Butchered it at least 10 times today, not to mention his 6 hospital passes..one which resulted in an easy goal to White...
Howelett was better today, didn't shank the ball and tackled well. I would rather someone get it 15 times and be effective with 14 of those disposals, rather than get it 30 times and be effective with 15!

I thought Prismall was pretty good in the last quarter, but his disposal and decision making early on were terrible. He is very lucky to be getting a game at the moment. It's frustrating because he is pretty smart in terms of knowing where to run and could be a very good player if he could hit a target.

Including the captain and after quarter time, Winderlich as well.
Prismall was that far ahead of Howlett, you are making yourself look stupid by suggesting otherwise.

I counted 2 by foot, 1 by hand, 1 out on the full, and 2-3 of his standard squib efforts where he doesn't go hard enough.
Bryce Gibbs copped plenty of flack for it when he started, fair to give Hurley the title of the new squib on the block. Perhaps you should get some footage over the past few weeks at the amount of contests Hurley has pulled out of. As Longy said, his direct opponent was the best key forward on the ground today.
He has serious talent but I feel he is rather complacent at the moment.
