Take a look at Winderlich, he must be the worst by hand in the team, he handballs to his teammates "below their hands" on many occassions and at the start of the last he had a shot from either 50 or just inside and guided directly to LRT on the last line. So if Prismall is turning it over so too is Winderlich.

Perhaps you should get some footage over the past few weeks at the amount of contests Hurley has pulled out of. As Longy said, his direct opponent was the best key forward on the ground today.

He has serious talent but I feel he is rather complacent at the moment.

Oh I agree over the last few weeks, but not today. I thought he put his body on the line when he needed to. I was at the Richmond game and I thought he looked particularly gutless and next to useless down back.

As for Jesse White, lmao, he played alright today but it was cherry picking at its finest for pretty much everything he got. Wouldn't read into a performance like that.

I think you guys probably expect a bit too much from Hurley. Will still take a few years or so to develop into the player he can be ( which will be a very good player one would think )

Good last quarter, deadset woeful in the first 3. Right now, he's not in our best 22. He finds the footy effortlessly, but he gives up possession without a care in the world. Self preservation simply doesn’t cut it, especially when your decision making and skill level are (atm) average at best. Houli shits me for much the same reason.

Wet conditions have never suited the bombers so I had my doubts going into the game when it's been raining up in sydney for the week. But we stuck it out and got unlucky in the end. Goodes did feck all up until the last 2 minutes.

Hurl's is in his second year give the kid a break he's not going to be able to go out and dominate every week it's going to take time.

Stant's was a big miss today as was fletch/hooker. Would have freed up the likes of licka and myers.

Pris played his role and stepped up in the last quarter when it mattered. We got butchered by the umps today so the aggression needs to be directed more towards them.

As for those mentioning Houli to come in I'd rather play with 17 on the field than have him on there.

Gumby, jetta and davey get better every week.

I can form my own opinion, and before I start listening to irrational opinions on Bigfooty, I will take the opinion of the Coaching staff, who give him a set role every week.

He had two or three turnovers, but because everyone on here is so hot for him, his turnovers seem to be highlighted by our supporter base, apmliphying the situation.

Prismall gets 20+ unrecognized possesions every week, mainly because they are efficient and nobody realises......

The fact that there is a thread with this drivel, is an embarresment to this board, and turncoats supporters like yourself, dont jump back on board when he plays well when it counts....

What is so good about the way Prismall plays the role that other players on the list, if given the opportunity, could not be as effective? I am yet to see what Prismall is doing that couldn't be done by, lets say, Jetta (allowing him to stay in the middle to bring Reimers in to the forward line) or say Houli (who can get the ball 20+ times without any problems).

There is one way that Prismall can get the monkey off his back and it is perfecting his disposal. It is the main reason so many of us are on his back about it. His kicks are often too long for a leading forward and his handballs are Houli like. I know I'd take Bachar kicking to me as a leading forward before I'd take Prismall.

In the same way that it did with Stanton, the stat sheet is clouding the judgement of people in this debate.

Glad Hurley's name has been mentioned. He needs to sit in a room and watch tapes of how Hird attacked the football. His own attack in the past few weeks has been disgraceful. Has allowed soft goals and marks to be taken when playing in the backline as well.

Prismall gets the ball in better positions than Houli, and believe it or not, he doesn't put his teammates in as much pressure situations as Houli. Now i am not niave to think that Prismalls possesion is perfect. But either was Nathan Buckley, it was just extremely good.

Prismall is rarely going to go through a game without one or two bad possesions, but 2 wrong out of 28 gets you your drivers license, its sure as hell rates as a pass for me. His main problem is that his howlers are usually in situations where he is expected to hit a target. This happens a lot when he opts to use his left foot when kicking short. When kicking on the right, he is alright short, but in terms of long kicking, he is just about right up there with our best kicks.

Yes he has improvement. But people, he is not yet a season in with us yet. (due to injury) he is still learning, He is still young, He is still to put it all together after returning from injury. History will suggest that Knee Reco's usually take two seasons after returning to see players hitting thier straps.

I think that the Essendon faithful out there are deluded as we traded for him rather than going with one of our own. To get Prismall at pick 39 is a Bargain. He was recruited at a young age, and people should just forget that we traded for him, because to be brutally honest, he was, and still is a steal for us, a side that has an abundance of kids, at least he is a more developed body than an 18 year old D-F Grade kid.

I havent looked at who was taken where in terms of last seasons draft, but im tipping from pick 39 onwards, Prismall would be the first pick. Therefore our recruiting has been excellent.

On this site, Prismall, Slattery, Dyson & Stanton feel the wrath when we lose, its just a shame for Prismall, that we lost when those 3 didnt play.......

What it shows is that the people on here are not true essendon supporters
why would any potential recruit want to come to us when we have ueducated
supports writing dribble like this.

Pris, will be our best on baller during our premiership window.
From all reports, Pris was the only one to stand up after round
2 and say we need to have a more defensive mindset.
For that he got dropped but it has resulted in the EFC playing in
a style that has everyone enjoying.

This tells me he is a very smart footballer and this has been validated
by the Geelong players who were very disappointed to lose him.

Pris's problem is that he runs to the right areas and obviously get used,
but other dumb midfielders ( except jobe) are not getting to the next
usable position.

Because Pris has been taught at Geelong to be a defensive mid, he is
getting a lot of possies at half back helping our defence, and therefore
under constant pressure.

What does Roos putting the leagues best tagger Kirk on Pris tell the uneducated
supporter! That he is a very good play and they see all the things he does to help
us win. Are u guys saying you know more than a Premiership Coach

I'm on record as saying Prismall had a good game yesterday, but people's right to an opinion means they can criticise players who had a poor game. It has nothing to do with being a "true essendon supporter".

For the record I was always a fan of Jobe and Stanton; I said that people too often only remembered their bad kicks, and stated that they did more than enough to cancel out these errors.

I don't feel the same way about Prismall.

However I only saw snippets of yesterday, and listened to the rest, so cannot comment on that game.

I really hope that he's just a player that will improve in a good side, much like he supposedly was a good player at Geelong.

EDIT: Agree with Ben. I'm a "true Essendon supporter" and I don't make a habit of paying out any of our players. Prismall really irritates me with his performances, but it does not make me any less of a supporter.

I'm absolutely astounded at some of the comments directed at Hurley. Fair enough he hasn't attacked the ball enough as hard as he should've at times but to question his courage - Quite frankly, that's preposterous.

White got two cheap goals in the first quarter because Hurley tried to help out fellow defenders - even Fletcher gets burnt by this - I'm sure when they look over the tapes, Hurley will educated when to commit and when to stay on his man.

As for the lack of courage - the point I made earlier still stands, I lost count at the amount of times Hurley left his man to give our other defenders a chop out, he launched himself at the ball numerous times.

I really want to know what game people were watching.
