Port Adelaide is still waiting for confirmation from the AFL as to whether it can wear its heritage black-and-white prison bar guernsey in the upcoming Round 8 Showdown.

Has probably been discussed already but is there any info on the actual contract or terms from 1997? Would love to see what’s actually outlined.

All parties failed to find any documentation saying we are banned from wearing the Prison Bars forever. Otherwise former president Eddie would have been waving it around years and years ago. There is something from 2007 saying that we can wear it for heritage rounds though, Then the AFL immediately scrapped the round which is pretty shady. The club reckons a fair replacement would be for showdowns instead, given it's a marquee game in SA footy.
Collingwood signed an agreement saying we could wear it every year in heritage rounds.
Eddie just admitted on television he only signed it as he knew heritage round was being scrapped. Very dodgy.

He knew it was being scrapped for the following year, not forever.
Yes agree, he should have let Kane have his say first.
The agreement was for the 2007 Heritage Round and all/any future Heritage rounds. They knew they wouldn't have one in 2008 but the agreement also applies to any future Heritage rounds in 2025, 2050 etc.

The Crows should then be wearing historical SANFL guernseys representing Norwood, Glenelg, Sturt etc. They could rotate it on an annual basis.
Good luck to them if that’s what they want to do.
Speak for yourself. If full time prison bars were an option, many many port supporters would be all for it.

If Collingwood kick up a stink about the bars, I can't wait to see what the ever-reasonable Essendon would have to say if we wanted to wear West Adelaide's jumper!
