Sydney prog playing at the Cactus Thornbury next week with some great progressive bands.

Beautiful Bedlam playing the night after in Workers Club Fitzroy also with some great psych ,prog bands.

Glorious times for Aussie Prog Rock fans or anyone who loves music in general whether it be jazz, brutal metal or prog!

I thought id give Voyager a go. An Aussie prog metal band that featured at Eurovision a couple of years ago. They were pretty good with some funky odd time stuff going on in most of their songs. Sad to here that the lead singer was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer not long after Eurovision though.

Something Australian with the amazing Cleis Pierce on electric Viola.

Why is the viola bigger than a violin?
It isn't, Violinists just have bigger heads.

Out of the entire Dream Theater discography, Awake one has always been my go to album. This was my introduction to DT during the 1990's and I somewhat wished they could go back to that sound.

The original keyboardist, Kevin Moore was instrumental in the soundscape of this album before his departure at the completion of recording. The final track, Space-Dye Vest was his swan song and it's a masterpiece in terms of emotion and depth that DT has never really been able to replicate since.
