Kingswood Contry was by far the best Aussie comedy/sitcom, so much so that I have the song as my ringtone.

I just loved Ted Bullpit, "Kingswood, your not taking the Kingswood, I just glad wrapped the number plate"

I'm a huge Ted Bullpit fan. Still ocassionally say "somebody ought to blow up ...."

Just for you MP

Ted Bullpit and AFL football (not my wording) some one put this on the expansion board

And your ringtone really sounds like this?

And where it all started, on that other great Aussie sketch comedy show, The Naked Vicar Show.

Thanks for those clips REH they bring back good memories of sitting with my parents and watching the show and lol'ing. I wonder if current sensorship would even allow this show back on the air. I'm going to have to do a bit of searching and see if the show has been released on DVD because those little clips had me absolutely pissing myself.

And yes I really do have the Kingswood Country song as my ringtone, am happy to email it to anyone who wants. I did have welcome back Kotter as my ringtone but this one is so much better.

Sounds like we are of the same vintage MP. "Up your nose with a rubber hose."

I'm only 32, but my parents got me a small black and white tv as a young boy and I guess I watched alot of the great programs back them.

Allo Allo is another one of my all time favourites "you stupid woman"and Dad's Armywas great too.

I'm just over a decade older so you must have seen the replays then. They tried to revive Kingswood Country via the sitcom Bullpit in 1997 where Ted was in a nursing home. It didn't work.

Re the DVD, there is some info at this wiki page

its funny how many of his catchphrase I still use or hear people using today

The series has spawned some catchphrases such as:
  • "Don't call me Dad, I'm your father!"
  • "Pickle me grandmother!"
  • [when surprised from behind] "Give a man a heart attack!"
  • "Strike me Catholic!"
  • [when someone asks to drink his beer] "Leave your money on the fridge!"
  • "Somebody/someone should blow [current object of annoyance] up!"
  • "The Kingswood! You're not taking the Kingswood!..." [insert far-fetched excuse] e.g "I've just ducoed the tyres"
  • "When I was a boy... " [insert long-winded, far-fetched story]
  • "Hate, hate, vomit!"
  • [when asked how his day went] "Bloody shambles, of course!"
  • [the universal insult for a miserable, miserly old man] "Grumblebum!"
  • Leave the money on the fridge when someone other than Ted consumes his beer.
  • This is Ted Bullpit...No!Bull-PIT...yeah, everyone says that

my new msg tone upsets everyone, it is simply a high pitch tone which is earpiercing, I have it because its the only thing i can hear when in my pocket. too much loud music in my car as a youngster has caused havoc with my hearing
