Now i'll begin by stating that personally i think this is a load of ********, but a friend of mine reckons he's heard of the following trade:

Fevola to Collingwood.....Tarrant to Richmond......Schulz, Tivendale and 22 to Carlton

now i think he was probably making it up, didnt give me a source, but it prompted an argument..

Do you think we'd be getting screwed from such a deal???

Am i crazy in thinking id take tarrant over fev any day of the week??

No you're not crazy and your Carlton friend must be almost through his brick of hash. After Fevs 'performance' at Carltons presentation night (re yesterdays Age) why would you go anywhere near him???

Dont worry its BS, some moronic supporters would say it fair, but we would never trade tarrent for fev alone, we would have to grab their 1st rounder too.. If it did happen it would be to squeeze another big name player under the cap, like bartel.. but we wouldnt do it to taz..

I'd also take Fevola, play him out of the Full Forward position, leaving Rocca to dominate at CHF. Release Trav up into the CHB position and run Tazz off a flank or wing where he should be.

Would probably offload pick 5 for Fev, I think with Buckley and Rocca around him for guidance and to keep him on the upbeat, he would be a handy addition.

FF - Rusling - Fevola - Didak/Davis
HF - Buckley - Rocca - Tarrant

Thoughts??

If we get Fevola, dont trade Tarrant, therefore, we arent gonna get Fevola.

Despite the fustration Tazza gives us, he is still a valuable footballer.

Most trade rumours probably shouldn't be taken seriously until after the grand final.

I wouldn't trade Tarrant at all ..

I guess what I was trying to say is that with a pick that we weren't really trying to nab, we could use that in landing Fev at FF. Release Trav down to CHB which will fill a need in the backline. His driving kicks down to the leading Tarrant or Buckley, or just sit it on top of Roccas head down the guts.

Fev is 24 and has bagged more than our leading goal scorer the last few years, and then use pick 2 to land Murphy / Ellis.

We weren't trying to nab the priority so if we were to have won another game in that last miserable period, we would of had pick 5. I just see it as a positive, the change of scenery would do Fev the world of good.

From what I hear it is not the strongest draft, why not take a chance on that note??

I reiterate that i'm not taking the rumour seriously, i know it's a load of bollocks.

Just thought it would be a point for discussion as to wether people think the trades worthwile or not, and who is getting the short straw.

It was actually suggested by a richmond supporter FWIW.

I know its crap but still a discussion point..

I wouldn't worry about it because it's obviously a wind up.

Poor poor Fev. I don't mind him as a footballer and on TV he's mildly entertaining.... but he's lost the plot both on and off the field. He really has. What he did recently at the old dark navy poohs best and fairest shows the guy is simply immature. A disgrace in anyone's football world whether it's Carlton or not.

Carlton fans would go ********en mental seeing Fev in Black & White!

LOL! ohhhhhhhhhhhhh that would ******** some people off wouldn't it? LOL!

Aggree that the Fev/Tarrant trade has got to be complete crap! Just doesn't make sense for either side really.

But in saying that, i could see Fev being very damaging at Collingwood.

Fev @ FF. Rocca at CHF. Move Tarrant up to the wing and perhaps Didak in the midfield. Hmmmm, could be very damaging.

Plus Eddie seems to like him for his marketing abilities.

Don't you think Carlton are getting screwed here?

Collingwood and Richmond both get a talented key forward, while Carlton get 2 mediocre players and 2nd round pick.

Would Collingwood supporters accept Tivendale, Schultz and pick 22 in a trade for Tarrant?

I don't think so.

There's a prevailing idea that 3 average players are of equal value to 1 good player. I reckon that is completely wrong.

If clubs trade a KPP, they want another player of equal value in return, not a combination of lesser players, that combined, are meant to compensate that club for their loss.

There are limited places on a list, and limited places in a team. Losing a gun and getting 2-3 depth players in return is not a fair trade.

Most of you guys are saying would would not even think about trading Tarrent. Well heres one, this is HYPOTHETICAL only, not a rumour.
Tarrant for Pavlich
Pav and Connoly sont get along apparently
Taza get his fun in the sun

Question is: Would you take it?

Probably need to ask MM, - I would think that there isn't anyone on here that can make that decision

Schultz is a good KPP prospect. Tivendale would walk into carltons side, and the 2nd round pick, well maybe upgrade that to a first rounder.

As for tarrant/fev, don't forget tarrant is an all australian player CHF, and I along with most collingwood supporters believe he will return to that form soon enough.
