Since our first game of AFL, Fremantle FC have played 36 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander male players .They have plaed a total of 2,480 games.
Sadly that run ceases tomorrow in the game against the Sydney Swans. With the injuries of Walters and then Pearce, we have no other player to continue the run at the highest level.
What an amazing run of names, Stephen Hill, Antony Grover, Roger Hayden, Michael Walters, Michael Johnson,Jeff Farmer, to name a few.
So many are recognised as greats, not only of our football club, but the AFL Australia wide.
A record has been set by the club that will probably never be beaten.
To all those 36 players, I as a full time member, would like to thank each and every one of you for your contribution to our club.
As a club, we should be very proud of this achievement .
Well done, and thank you.

Well said anchor man
and a special shout out to all the Noongar warriors
YOKAI!

Other than Walters and Pearce, we don't have as many indigenous players as we used to have. Even the NGA is far more diverse than it used to be, with a lot of talent coming from places like India and Africa.
