No, it's quite annoying.

If I had a choice I'd boycott Sony.....but there's nothing else out there that's any good, so I'm stuck.

How about you go and buy a 360.

You are so obviously a 360 fanboy, yet you seem to still have a PS3.

Just get a 360 and bugger off!

I think the 360 is prone to even more problems... A mate of mine said he's had the 'red circle of death' twice. He dosen't have a 360 any more...

Most batches of 360's are fine nowadays.. It did get as bad ans 36% of 360's being faulty but now its down under 10 %... Around the same as the PS3...

Yeah new 360's have the Falcon motherboard. the old ones were definately a bit dodge, but the issue has been fixed.

People buying 360's now can certainly make the purchase with confidence...

lol it was funny... Was watching a channel 9 report on ACA on why '36% of 360's don't work' last month

Small chuckle to myself concerning the fact they were a year late :D

No reason not to be confident in the 360 anymore.. Though some people will be off-put by its history.

Is the warranty and new motherboard facts stated so on the box though, as I would have thought doing some research on which you want and seeing a previously shocking 360 failure rate but possibly not knowing about the extended warranty and motherboard might drive people away and to another console.

Well if you do decent research, you will know this.

Probably would.

Wouldn't say much for that persons research tho, its not hard to find out

If someone looks on a box they dont have much information of the console beforehand, so they probably wouldn't know about the failure rate.

Most informed people research before their purchase.

Yeah, as the bloke who started this round of 360 'crapness', I'm bad :o All I went on is memories of a mate's experiences when his f*cked up twice on him. This was when it first came out so yeah, it happened way before Falcon Motherboards came to the rescue.

Spoke to Sony yesterday, it's being consigned for delivery today so hopefully I get it back early next week.

It happened at a bad time, Christmas day, so I can semi-understand why it took so long to come back with all the staff on holidays.

I can't wait.....a pile of 15 games and a new 1080p.....I might take a week leave.

Actually a friend of mine bought the 360 not long ago.

When he opened the box he noticed it was an older batch. Packed it up again and went straight to the shop demanding a new one.

Why do stores still try and sell the old ones?

Trying to get rid of them i guess, pretty dodgy practice, selling them to the unknowing.

As long as the box has the new packaging, it should be a falcon. Other way to check is look at the power supply unit (power brick) label. Apparently all falcons have a 175w psu, and are labelled as such.
