Mancey, google up Sony XBR960.

Super Fine Pitch CRT tube. pretty much the zenith of CRT tech.

I'm not joking the picture is stunning.

before my marriage broke down I lived with a HT system that had a 2.5M screen, $30000 projector, etc etc etc, total value about $80K. I know a reasonable picture when i see it.

cnet "The bottom line: This is the reference standard for picture quality among direct-view HDTVs and happens to be a great value".

As i said mate, by crappy crt i meant your bog stock standard 640x480 CRT that your average bloke owned pre flat panel screens.

I don't doubt the quality of a high end crt.

Being able to watch trailers, full movies, trophies and tons of other in game features.

All things possible over LIVE. Maybe you can tell us what these TONS of other features are?

Of course they are trying to copy features from XBOX LIVE, it is known to be the best, but the thing is if Sony can copy all those elements and add plenty of their own, the thing that remains is the fact that the PSN is 100% FREE, whereas XBOX LIVE cost's $$$.

We'll see what's free when this 'Home' comes out I guess, won't we.

It's not only about dressing up avatars or whatever, it is being in a virtual world and communicating with your mates, launching into games with them, playing the free HD arcade games, also these aren't the Arcade games of the ilk of XBOX LIVE, MUCH BETTER in fact!

Like what? You're nearly as bad as rick for using undefinable positives and vague pronouncements.

'PS3 is so technologically advanced, it's the bomb'

'How? What does it do?'

'It plays blurays......It just is, ok!?'

Sony have no certification because they don't have a system to implicate it in yet, anyway, Sony will bring In-Game XMB, which will be available in every game, and HOME will be almost assured of having all features in a certification type system.

Can you show me where you got this info? Will the XMB be available in games already out? Will HOME features work with COD4?

The in game XMB is a Sony implication that will come with a firmware update, it will be available for ALL games, it will be an application of the PS3, nothing to do with the games.

Sony will have their own ways of implicating features in the PS3, they don't really want to rely on lazy developers to put this stuff in, that is why Sony have taken so long to bring out In Game XMB, because they want it to be as good as it can be and not cause games to lag or slow down because of it.

Will HOME features work with COD4?
Yes, COD4's latest patch(1.10 I think) has included integration for HOME, same with Warhawk, not sure of other games being integrated yet.

I can search for where this is specifically stated, but I can't be stuffed right now, although it is on a HOME youtube video.

Oh, I don't really have the time, maybe once it comes out and I can play it I will tell you, but I might be on it too much to be able to!

Well I know for a fact that pretty much everything is free, only items that you choose to collect will cost money, and there is word that acheivement points may be able to go towards some of those items.

Who the hell is rick?

I know that the PS3 is a great machine, I haven't once compared the system to the XBOX 360 and simply don't because they are so different.

Rick is Karl Pilkington. His old bigfooty username was Rick James.

Some of his posts in the past as RJ were quite funny and entertaining.

It's that easy, is it? Sony have taken so long, because the XMB uses many times more of the system's resources than the 360 dashboard does. Going to cause havoc with games when it comes out.

Stop saying implicating/cation, you're using it wrong.

Love how you 'don't have time' to gives us all of these awesome new features

Luckily the PS3 has many more resources at it's disposal. And the dashboard is rainbow coloured, doesn't get much gayer than that.

Hardly - the two systems are very similarly specced, except the Cell processor, but the XMB will be using more memory, which the 360 has.

How do you know the XMB will use much more resources that the 360 dashboard, sure the current XMB might, but that is with the extras that are in it, Sony want an In-Game XMB that will be easy to function and not too bulky in it's features.

Sorry mister Dictionary!

Yeah, because unlike you I HAVE A LIFE!

Give up already, you're no good at this.

Come on, tell me why, don't just be a teaser and not answer to a post, is it because I am right that you choose not to answer it properly?

Okay. The PS3 Operating System consumes (wastes) 96MB of RAM, while the Xbox 360 Operating System is designed much more efficiently--it uses only 32MB of RAM. This leaves the Xbox 360 with 480MB of RAM for gaming applications, while the PS3 is actually left with only 416MB of RAM.
