As long as you have a Telstra post paid plan (Business or Personal), simply dial #820# from your phone.

You'll get an option to "Dismiss" on screen after it mentions receiving your request. You will then get a text message from Telstra asking you to choose an AFL or NRL Live Pass.

Pick whichever and sign in with your Telstra ID (which if you live on Earth in 2016 and are with Telstra, you should have) and BOOM, free 12 month Live pass.

I'd assume it's not metered either given it's all traffic through Telstra.

Enjoy boys and girls.

Last time you could just buy a $2 Telstra sim and do it...
Oooo, the plot thickens. Considering getting an international membership or something on top of mine as it is, to get access to the global AFL website via VPN, better resolution that way. But I shall definitely consider this option.

Confirmed it's definitely not metered so yeah stream away.
Standard data charges apply when downloading the AFL Live Official app. Video data usage in the AFL Live Official app is unmetered within Australia for Eligible Customers in respect of supported Telstra devices (excludes usage at Telstra Air hotspots and international roaming).
Video data usage is only unmetered for the following Telstra services:

  • BigPond ADSL/Cable/NBN
  • Telstra mobile handsets / tablets with any Telstra SIM (excluding International Roaming)
Telstra services excluded from unmetering:

  • Mobile Broadband (Dongles and mobile WIFIhotspots)
  • Telstra Business Broadband
  • BigPond Internet (Dial Up/ Satellite/ Hourly Plans)
  • Telstra Air

Don't the clubs want an international address when singing up for those though?

It's like having Fox Footy on your mobile or tablet but I guess some tricky dickies could stream it thru their TV somehow.
The Foxtel app blocks TV streaming, but I'm not sure on this one. Anyone with an Apple TV (I don't have one) hopefully can confirm?

That sucks. Ask for a refund and see if they give it.

Alternative, AFL Global Pass via VPN. $80 a year.

I used to work at Telstra for 11 years and even with a staff discount it was a massive rip-off to get their products and bundles.

I have TPG internet at $40 p/m for 20 Gig, Optus mobile prepaid at @ $17 p/m, PIA (VPN) for $1.50 p/m and Stan at $10 p/m. So @$67 per month for all services - including watching AFL games live.

Telstra bundles suck balls.

Dont need a VPN it will just go slow.
You can use Unotelly DNS which will keep it fast

Well, you just have to make it believe you live outside Australia.
Quality is great on watchafl.

I know. I'm in Australia and I use that service. Very good quality on the TV.

Just curious as to how you can get it for $80? On the website it says ~$160.
