I got the pass last night after reading about it on twitter.
I will probably never use it as I have foxtel.
Only reason I wanted it is because I thought you could use it on PC.
I have foxtel go on 2 tablets and phone anyway.
If you are a football tragic and have Telstra as telephone provider just get it.
Rarely do you get anything for free from them.

Sideloaded the AFL app onto my android tv box (nvidia shield tv). Connected the box to my phone (setup as hotspot). Full screen steaming for free (as it's streaming over Telstra 4G) and the quality is great. Winning. Free live footy this year.

Only thing I needed to do was use a wireless mouse to select live games part of the app as the afl don't have a native android tv app (I couldn't select that part of the screen using the box remote, that required the mouse).

Actual quality is better than above, shot I took a bit blurry.

Edit: I need to confirm that the data is still free when my phone is setup as a hotspot. Anyone know if it is? I would have assumed so, but best to check before I go over my data allowance.

Edit 2: Have confirmed with Telstra that it will not count towards my data allowance as long as the phone is running as a hotspot.

As someone who isn't big on reading T and C's. How does it work in relation to data? I would assume it completely eats it up and as someone who has foxtel it is not needed? I am also on Telstra FYI

Pretty sure streaming through the AFL app is free for Telstra customers (doesn't eat up your monthly data)

My Foxtel play used to chew up close to 1GB per game. If you have Fox, then you definitely don't need to worry about getting an AFL live pass

Spoke to Telstra, as long as my phone is running as a hotspot data will not be counted (the android box is running the app and connecting to the net through the phone). Awesome!

So people with Foxtel don't need this league pass thing?
Well...I mean, I have Foxtel too.

But there ARE occasions where I can't watch on Foxtel or make it to the game so I can watch. Or I might want to watch the replay or parts of it while at work or on break? Or maybe I want my iPad setup in front of me WHILE watching a Collingwood game to keep an eye on another game that's on?

I mean shit dude, it's free. What's the worst thing that can happen? You pay nothing and never use it?
