Jamie Sheahan and ruckman Andy Browne were both invited to train with Richmond this week, so maybe you guys will get Jamie?

where did you hear that from?? i'm keen for us to get sheahan actually so if true that would be great.

seems like you're from mansfield, where sheahan played his junior footy

Bushies hold out AFL hopes despite draft disappointment

SEVERAL former Murray Bushrangers are hoping to keep their AFL dreams alive in the lead-up to the AFL pre-season and rookie drafts on December 16.Kade Klemke, Tom Rockliff, Riley Milne, Andrew Browne and Jamie Sheahan — all considered good chances to be selected in Saturday’s national draft — all missed out but are still working hard to break into the AFL system.
Bushies’ premiership captain Klemke and Milne are currently training at Richmond and Hawthorn respectively as they attempt to win a spot on their lists.
Ruckman Browne and Jamie Sheahan were invited to a rookie training day at Richmond last week but were unable to attend, but both may be invited by the Tigers to train with them next week.
Rockliff, meanwhile, is unsure of his next move.
Touted as a leading contender to be selected on Saturday, the clever forward is in talks with Murray Bushrangers coach Phil Bunn as the duo decide on the best course of action.
Rockliff, 18, won the John Byrne Medal as the Murray Bushrangers’ best and fairest player last season after topping the TAC Cup goalkicking ladder.
He said he may be able to push his case at an AFL club before December 16.
“Bunny has been talking to a few clubs for me and we’re just deciding whether I should go and train with them,” he said.
“We think it would be best to only go and train if the clubs are genuinely interested.
“Port (Adelaide) has been in touch and they’ve said I could go and train with them but they already know everything about me so I’m not sure what will happen there.
“I’m still waiting to hear what to do.”
Rockliff had come to terms with the disappointment of missing out in the national draft.
“I’m feeling a bit better now, Saturday was obviously a bit tough but I’ve moved on,” he said.
“I’m getting stuck into training, I’m trying to keep in the best shape I can — I’m training two or three times a week with Benalla (Football Club) and doing other stuff on my own.
“I’m just hoping to get into the system — either as a rookie or in the pre-season draft — and work my way through.
“I just want to get on a list.”

It was in the local paper as well as in the article posted above... And yep, I'm from Mansfield, I actually went to school with Jamie until he went to Assumption and still see him around a fair bit. Nice person.

I'm guessing Jamie couldn't attend cause he's at schoolies...?

what is the wash up with who has a pick in the PSD and who has committed to players? i.e. When it comes to our pick, are we pretty much in the box seat when it comes to Sibosado? ;)

thanks mate. hope we get both, do u know if he's down there already?? or will be there over the next week?

anyone got a pic of Sheahan?

I trained with Mansfield for a few months last year while working. I may be able to share some info.

Nah not sure, as far as I know he's still in Qld at the moment.

Lol, I might know you then, I hang around the Mansfield footy club a fair bit. Anyway, he's usually known as "Shagga" so you might know him as that...

so i guess sheahan and browne have both been invited and will come down to punt road last in the week or next week. suppose the club already have quite a good idea about those 2 and would just like to see them up close a little bit more instead of needing them down there for the whole 2 weeks.

although, you'd think going to training would enhance your chances much more than schoolies. maybe the club appreciates that the kids have already paid for the accommodation etc.

So just to recap apparently we have:
Kade Klemke (MUR)
Andrew Browne (MUR)
Jamie Sheahan (MUR)
Riley Milne (MUR)
Tom Simpkin (GEE)
and indigenous player most likley Adam Varcoe
Cockshell (PA)
matthew suckling
justin van unen
Deluca

All training with us at some point.
For me the stand outs there are Simpkin, Sheahan and Browne.
But I'd prefer Rockliff over all of those.
