Rather take a project player that may come off than take a guy who can't kick. Klemke and Gaertner would be much better options than De Clanger would be!

Honestly why are we are seriously considering drafting Skipworth in the PSD?

I dont understand Knights rationale drafting a bloke who hasnt played AFL for 3 years and will be 27 next year, what is he going to bring to our side on the field and going forward??

Agree wholeheartedly on Skipwoth, would not add anyhting to the list. There has to be a better option.

If we pick up Skipworth we should have just kept Peverill at least we know he could hold his own at this level.

I voted other. I'd really like us to take a punt on Nahas. I know he's scrawny but I liked the way he played for Port Melbourne this year

Someone mentioned Christian Bock (brother of Nathan) in a previous post, i like the look of him as a rookie.
Looks the epitome of a beanpole ruckman at 205cm and 85 kg, but his highlights package looks more promising to me than other really tall ruckmen taken in the ND (Zach Clarke, Luke Lowden etc.).
One worth having on the list i reckon...

Agree, especially now we have Madden as our ruck coach. :thumbsu:

clancee pearce was very impressive at the u/18 nationals for w.a. i was astonished he wasn't pick up. he looks a ready made hbf - he reads the play well, looks tough, is physically well developed, quick and has good skills coming out of defence.

he is a better defender/flanker option than jarrod atkinson for mine.

i think he's the best available (eliminating cousins for being a junkie...)

Yep was pushed out of the side by a dud named Porplyzia and asked to be traded, nothing came of it and was delisted to go try his luck elsewhere. Skipworth is a better footballer than Peverill by a fair margin.

unless a few kids are invited down for next week, it will be skipworth. only he and cramieri are non-listed players at training.

Yeah, listening to Knights you'd think we'd go for Skipworth just for the fact that he is mature age. We've got a lot of kids at the club and he might be worth the selection. Otherwise another young player.

Can anybody please tell me when the pre season draft takes place? Is it the 13th and is the rookie draft the same day?

Tue Dec 2, 10am - Nomination of scholarship-listed player and international scholarship-listed player to rookie list.

Tue Dec 2, 10am - Nomination of an international player and a player not registered for three years.

Tue Dec 2, 2pm - Uncontracted listed players nominate.

Wed Dec 3, 3pm - List Lodgement 3 and TPP Estimates.

Tue Dec 9, 2pm - Delisted players nominate.

Tue Dec 16, 10am - 2008 NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft selection meeting (microsoft live meeting).

Tue Dec 16, 10.15am - Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans nominate eligible rookie list players.

Would be happy with Skipworth as he sounds like a great bloke to have around the club and could be good list insurance for injuries. think he would've played quite a bit this year with our epidemic.

he's not a long long term solution but for leadership he could be good.

poor old pev would be a bit peeved though. anyone know what he's doing next year???

After watching the Matthew Knights interview after the draft on bomber tv I have a sneaky suspicion that we may take cousins because he said as we have a really young list we may need experience to complement.
