I think that we will be looking at a couple of DFAs over the next couple of weeks. There are a couple I would like to see at the club

So I'm just thinking about Thomas and O' Keefe from Collingwood. They're banned until February 2017 but will be able to play that season meaning they'll be eligible in next years drafts. I imagine we'll be very close to the bottom next year, would we entertain the idea of taking them in the PSD or rookie draft? For me it's a no brainer, if we could get O'Keefe for nothing that would be incredible.

Collingwood will be rookie listing them both and they can have them.

I can't think of one reason as to why we'd consider drafting Thomas or Keeffe.

Neither projected as being anything more than an ordinary footballer prior to their ban. Now we know that neither will be eligible for selection until 2017 when they will be 25 and nearly 27 years of age, respectively.

Sounds like one hell of a waste of two spots on the rookie list. Let Collingwood go down that path if they are inclined to do so, but it would be a ridiculous path for us to take.

Saturday October 31 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) begins

Monday November 9, 5pm - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (1) closes

Wednesday November 11 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) begins

Friday November 20, 5pm - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (2) closes

Wednesday November 25 - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) begins

Thursday November 26, 2pm - NAB AFL delisted player free agency period (3) closes

Tuesday December 1, 2pm - Final AFL club list lodgement

Delisted players can also nominate for the NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft.

Lets see... they took illicit drugs (1 strike) and got banned for pretty much 2 years for getting busted because the coke or speed they took was cut with clembutarol...

So... lets take some time to think about it... after the taking a stance over the years and having a zero tolerance towards drugs... why should we draft two guys who have taken illicit drugs in the past?

Wouldn't think so on the count of the fact that it hasn't happened yet and some rumoured concerns about Holman's possible off field concerns.

I know gws has a lot of youngsters, but golds was contracted until end of 2016 (signed two year end of 2014). But they cut him anyway. Add to that and he didn't play a single senior match in 2015.

Injury doesn't look to be an issue as has played full seasons in neafl last 4 years. Guessing he simply isn't good enough?
