PSD/Rookie Draft

I am hopeful (but not confident) that we'll bring Holman back to the club via the rookie draft.

Thought he showed some good signs last year and we could certainly do worse.

We won't get anyone better than him in the rookie draft. Bit of a no brainer for me to get him back into the club.

Would love us to give Callum Moore a go. Perfect kind of project player to rookie.

Do we need another project tall forward after our trade and draft though? Levi, Everitt, McKay, Curnow, SOS, Foster,
Jaksch, Gorringe, (dare I say) Jones as well as AW1, even White as third tall types. Weitering can go forward as potentially can Rowe and Plowman.

We needed more class, and hopefully the draft has given us that.

Can see tall defender wouldn't go astray, midfielders (runners), maybe a small forward and I don't discount a highly rated young ruck to develop while we sort out the merits/pecking order of our 23 year old plus big boppers.

What about a medium, who's a teammate of Ed's brother? 189cm, 34 goals in 13 games.

It was the moment Brett Blair made himself known to AFL recruiters, teaming up with Charlie Curnow for an irresistible forward line double act that still gets talked about today.

When the Falcons played North Ballarat in this year’s qualifying final, Blair kicked five goals and Curnow four, with the bulk of their damage coming in a breathtaking first half packed with highlights.

Curnow’s talents had long been known, but for Blair, who had fought back from an injury-ravaged pre-season, it was something of a coming of age.

Kerbatieh looks handy

Doesnt look like he has the lightning speed of a good Eddie Betts type small forward and more just an undersized lead up forward, his hands were not that clean either fumbling lots. Looks the type of player that kicks 100 goals in local footy every year but not be good enough at the elite level.

Agreed. Nick will never be a star but we know what we are going to get from him and that is likely better than most players remaining in the draft pool.

I see him more as a tall midfielder who can kick goals and cause mismatches. I just think he's a special talent you take the hit for in terms of list balance. We'll have two more picks, one of which might be Holman so we can try for midfield reinforcements there but I'm not sure there's any solid selections left on the board in that regard.

Greg Clark. Reminds me of Hibberd from Tas. Tall mid with leadership qualities. Like.

Nick O'Kearney. Ball magnet. Was touted highly as a 16 yo, others just went past him. Like

Callum Moore. Reminds me of 1AW. Utility type who can go forward. Plenty of upside. Like.

Dan Houston. Only 187cm, but is a quality lead up forward. Reminds me of Luke Breust. Like.

Hisham Kerbatieh. Played specialist small fwd in champs and did well. Can play middle too. Smart. Like.

Gach Nyuon. Has some really good skills. Skinny but athletic. What I see a rookie being. Huge upside.

Jordan Galluchi. Good little player. Coaches love him. But no real major assets. Dislike.

Sam Snelling. Brad Walsh Mk11. Dislike.

Nick Rippon. Too slow for AFL game. One paced. Dislike.

Nick Holman. Players are delisted for a reason. He really does nothing for me. 50/50.

For me - Moore/O'Kearney/Clark - Kerbatieh - Houston - Nyuon.

I lol'd "Brad Walsh mk11"
