No place for him, a poor mans andy kellaway...would surely think theres better options

I disagree, for the following reasons.

1 - Had an extremley good year with the Pies, playing as a key centre half back, would normally get the oppositions second best forward and at times their best(Brown, Pavlich for example) and did very good jobs on them. And with a club on the rise, surely he could recover some of that form.

2 - Richmond was absolutley chewed out and pissed on when they offered Troy Simmonds a five year deal. This year, was extremley unlucky not to be All Australian. Patrick Bowden came from hardly managing a game, to getting into Richmonds Best 22, and pretty high up on the B+F too. You'd think Graham Polak would recover alot of his form too, so why not Jason Cloke?

3 - Would only really get the oppositions third best forward at best, with Gaspar and Polak doing the majority of the work. Do the maths, if he can be a regular at Collingwood in the year they won the flag playing a key position, how good could he be playing on the third or fourth forward.

4 - And what was wrong with Andrew Kellaway, i'd be expecting a replacement, look at it this way, if you could go back in time and pick up a young Andrew Kellaway for free (pre season draft) you would. You'd take off the courage factor, but the kid has age on his side. Has had minimal injuries, and is extremley fit.

out of the ones i know of luke brennan or hayden skipworth are the best options for recylced players

but hey, if you think makepeace will be good for a year or two but **** up the development of guys like casserly then why not

The first time l have ever agreed with you. Makepeace is RUBBISH!

Jason Cloke would be great in our back line.. a new club and away from his brothers could be the best for him.. we are going to have a running back line and he can run off it stay and loose it would be great for us!!! i reckon get him:thumbsu:

Jason Cloke = Soft... why the fk should we give that family anything. Is pisses me off to see supporters wanting to throw a lifeline to a bloke whose family shovved it in our face. He should rot!

Would rather get a whole bunch of kids down to punt road who missed out on the national draft. Put the carrot in front of them and reward one fo them with a spot.

From the guys Port delisted, Bishop, Shattock, Ware, Walsh, Eckermann and Ezard. I was a little surprised to see Ezard go, he is only young and played a few games before getting injured. I guess the club knows things we dont, as we are all about keeping the good youngsters at the moment. He must be doing something wrong!

I reakon at least he would be worth a spot on a rookie list.

He played 7 games this year. Has never played as a key defender. The only good year he had (2003?) was when he played as a loose man in defence for the entire year. As soon as he has to man up on someone he goes to water. Third tall defender is not a roblem for us. We have 2 Bowdens, Thursfield, Hall, Moore, McGuane and JON. Key defenders that can take a FF or CHF (which Cloke can't) are what we lack.

2 - Richmond was absolutley chewed out and pissed on when they offered Troy Simmonds a five year deal. This year, was extremley unlucky not to be All Australian. Polak is a #4 pick, Rising Star runner up, 195cm (Cloke is 190) and is blessed with talent but perhaps hasn't had the right mindset to date. He was playing good footy in the first half of this year. Cloke couldn't get a game last year in a team that finished in the bottom 3, was only worthy of a 3rd rd draft selection (was taken F/S). And as I said earlier, we have better, more mobile, better skilled, better decision making, more damaging players on our list to fill his position already.

3 - Would only really get the oppositions third best forward at best, with Gaspar and Polak doing the majority of the work. Do the maths, if he can be a regular at Collingwood in the year they won the flag playing a key position, how good could he be playing on the third or fourth forward.

Collingwood last won a flag in 1990. Jason Cloke wasn't playing. The last time Jason Cloke played in a GF, he was so bad he nearly gave the game away (Remember, started up forward)

Kella was 30, nearing 31. That's all. I'll miss him. Have had much enjoyment from his courage over the years. Has bled for us week in, week out. Cloke doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Chubba.

no comparison but none of these blokes was going to take us to the next level, cubba gave his all and played to his best ability, he wore the yellow and black but he was not up to it, cloke no, his mum lost me years ago beside skill wise he is not up to it

id say perry or cam cloke

or another youngster like white

this money thing is crap it was just millers way of trying to get a better deal for polak
the board wont give me money to improve our team
what aload of ****
what are we the kangaroos
we have plenty of dosh

The Hawks have delsited Nick Ries, Brennan, Thurgood, Harry Miller, Matthew Ball and Ben Kane. Melbourne have delisted Phil Read, Nick Smith and Shannon Motlop. Interesting-
Thurgood has fallen from grace pretty quick- he was the Hawks favourite a year or so ago.
Ries has been a waste- moves well and has the height but maybe just doesn't get enough of it.
Miller is another that has had a pretty quick fall from grace.
Ball- looks the part and hasn't really been played much but you Victorians would know more about him if you get to any VFL games I suppose.
I don't think any of these offer much but I did like Ries when he first appeared and Ball has intrigued me as he does look to have all the attributes. Interested to hear anyone else's thoughts?

Carlton delisted Ian Prendergast, Trent Sporn and Troy Longmuir today. I hope anyone that Carlton delists is of no interest to Plough and GM.:)

There is absolutely no one from the delisted at Hawthorn or Melbourne that interest me. Thurgood is a headcase and has been linked far too much with Everitt - half the reason why they got rid of him. Everitt was cloning him.

Its wierd but the only person l see that's available that can win (and lose) a game off their own boot is Kent Kingsley (Kant Kicksley). What would people's thoughts be on him and moving Schulzy back to defence?

Not Kingsley. Too much baggage and way too inconsistent.

Apparently Bombers delisted Aaron Henneman, Joel Reynolds, Tristan Cartledge, Ben Jolley and Tim O'Keefe.

There has been talk that the Bombers were going to delist Mark Bolton. He may be worth a PSD pick or a late national draft- depending on who we delist and how many players we need to take. I hope we bring in five new kids first and take our full quota of rookies (this has worked so well for the interstate clubs) and then maybe a Bolton to plug gaps in the defence. He's one of the fittest at Essendon and can play anywhere tall in the backline. I'm only really thinking "insurance", and I appreciate he won't win us the flag or anything. Anyway, he isn't even delisted yet.:o

ben jolley won the bedigo bombers B&F and was promoted during the year and played a couple with the bombers

not sure why they delisted him he might be worth a look

yeah but looking back at TW coached teams, there is one player from Melbourne that might raise some interest. He is the kind of the player that goes in real hard and upsets a few apple carts, when the time comes where there is a requirement for someone to divert the attention of the opposition, from the ball. Isnt that bad in the skills dept either. ;)

if you mean Phil Read i wouldnt really want him, but i can think of much worse players to have

Has been re-signed by Essendon today - one year deal.

Phil Read **** right off :thumbsd:

He is a down right hack, would add absolutely no value what so ever to our list and would just be another dud to take up space.

Cant kick , is slow and has little angry man syndrome.
