who would you guys like give a go in the pre season draft. I would like F Watts. Barry Brooks is one that could be like a Doyle for us just incase ruckman get injured or even try him up forward anyone else? Prefer not Whitnall.

I don't think we will have a pick in the PSD. You will find that we use all of our picks in the national draft. Lets back the kids.

How many spots do we have left on our list? we will use pick 11 26 and Craig Bird.

No way. I'm a Tassie boy also, like Barry Brooks - but he's just not up to it. Fergus Watts has already failed at 2 clubs so I don't see any value in him at the Swannies.

Out of the guys delisted from other Clubs, I would look at Kepler Bradley. Comparatively 2 years ago he was better at Essendon then Teddy. And remember another Defender by the name of Craig Bolton, well he turned out alright, although it was a very good Brisbane team he couldn't break into. The SCG would suit Kepler.

The problem with Kepler is that he has no physicality whatsoever. For a supposed Key defender to play so much tickle and run is a major negative - especialy when you consider the gruelling style Roos demands of all his players. Got a good look at him at the North Sydney game 2 years ago and watching him try to rough up the schoolkids and FAIL was embarrassing. I walked away predicting 2006 would be a miserable year for Kepler and for the Dons and so it was, so seeing him cut 2 years later is no surprise.

He probably has potential - but more than likely he's just a potential squib. But he wouldn't be the first Essendon discard to turn things around with a quality bit of Sydney-style man-management.

Bradley is a flanker trapped inside a KPP's body (in height anyway). I doubt he'd would ever make it as a KPP, but may be useful if used as a permanent Half-forward Flank.

No thanks.

He is not a defender! He is a HFF/CHF, thats where he played for Bendigo.

Interesting. I can't remember ever really seeing him forward at the Dons. Did you guys trial him there at all?

Played there against WCE in round 22 last season, apart from that no we didn't. And it is one of the big criticisms of Sheedy. Kepler plays well down forward for Bendigo kicking bags of goals..then what does he do when he plays for Esendon..puts him in the backline! Against WCE he was very good in his preferred position!

Why do we want Craig Bird so much?

It is irrelevant whether "we" want him. He has already been confirmed as a player for next year.

Any young player is a long shot to become a good AFL player but as captain of the victorious Div 2 u18 team, twice U18 AA, MVP for div 2 in this year's U18 champs and named as one of the best in the Swans reserves' recent GF win, his credentials are as good as many other young hopefuls, particularly at pick 60 odd in the draft.
