Allies vice captain DIPPER was forced to make a grovelling apology today as his years of outspoken criticism of his teammates finally caught up with him.

'I am taking this opportunity to apologise to my Allies teammate SeinDude, he's had a rough trot in the Tests & I have openly criticised some of his displays in the media. We have a culture of 'beasting' new players at the Allies, it's a practice whereby we try to raise everyone's standards by harsh & open criticism & I'm usually at the root of it.Whilst it seemed to have worked last season it has been brought to my attention that it may be proving counterproductive to the club as a whole, I have been fined by the commitee & warned as to my future conduct & Masey has pulled me into line & given me a dressing down. There is a feeling that the reason we lost so many of our premiership side at the end of last season was due to the fact that they found the atmosphere oppressive & not conducive to playing their best cricket, in fact sources at the club have told me that NICK THE PIEMAN in particualr found it hard to come to terms with & was often reduced to tears in the changing rooms & was even spotted blubbing behind the pavillion by fans last season when he bagged a pair.It is also clear that New Zealander Player has found it difficult to adjust to the harsh enviroment that is very different from the softer cricketing culture that he was used to back home. From now on I will be doing my best to help all our player improve their games, particlarly the bowlers & I will be happy to work with SeinDude in the nets & help turn him into the top class opening bowler that I know he is.In fact I may even show him some of the DIPPER secret deliveries that I admit I have been keeping to myslef for too long, in particular I feel he may benefit from learning the the ball that swings away & then jags back in off the pitch, which is my speciality.

NICK defends DIPPER criticism
By Mike Gibson

QLD Captain and former Allies Premiership player NICK THE PIE MAN has came out to defend the harsh criticism DIPPER has received about his controversial treating of first-year players and believes that an apology wasn't necessary.

"Dip has a way he goes about teaching first year players. He teaches them discipline and installs a mental toughness which I am still grateful for today."

"Whilst it may be seen as tough love, it certaintly helps the player in the long-term when stress and pressure comes around and im a better player because of it."
