Over 25,000 at Colonial Stadium on Friday Night (Inc Myself) and the state of the trains was a joke.

Many Belgrave/Lilydale line travelers as well as the Glen Waverley line had too wait up too at least half an hour at most for a god dam train.

The 1st train too go from platform 9 was the 10.34 Upper Ferntree Gully football special but a Glen Waverley service was due too arrive before this one but it didnt show up before the other Up FG one.

This was a joke too wait this long when Connex should have had trains ready asap when the football finshed.

Mags,

It has been brilliant for me each time I've been to Colonial. Straight down onto the platform and never having had to wait for more than 5 minutes for a train on the Frankston line.

It is a lot better now that they have turned off the escalators going down. Before it kept pushing people onto the platform, even after it was full. It was only going to be a matter of time before it overflowed and someone was pushed off, into the path of an oncoming train.

Yeh it has mostly been great for me too everytime I have been to Colonial Stadium expect this one time. Having too wait for half an hour for a Belgrave train which didnt even go all the way too Belgrave.

As for turning off the escalators, Connex still have them on, on the Belgrave and Epping line platforms.

I must say Bayside are pretty good with the number of trains and when they have them after the football.

Trains after games were really good last year but this year they've been pathetic. And what is the point of having a train that ends at Ringwood??!!

Or Mooralbark!

Plus the should have some express services too Ringwood, Like stopping Camberwell, Box Hill then all too what ever.

I live 5 minutes walk from Footy Park.

What a beauty!!

When I went to Waverly I had to get a train and then a bus?????

(No not from West Lakes)

People must be happier with Colonial as far as access goes surerly????

Yep that would be good too. The so called 'footy special' trains should be the express ones cos hardly any gets off near the city.

Yeh ****ing Oath!

Come On who gets off at Hawthorn and Burnley?

From my understanding, it depends on who you are barrack for and where you live. For example as a saints supporter living in the Western Suburbs, we don't have a 'footy special' going our way and usually have to wait a while. Yet the saints supporters on the Frankston and Sandringham lines get the 'footy specials'. Same as the Western Bulldog supporters going my way.

Still, I don't have too many complaints about the public transport from Spencer Street. It sure beats the 45 minute wait in the Waverley car park and the hour drive home. ;)

Jars, while I prefer playing at Colonial Stadium, you would find that many saints supporters live in the South Eastern suburbs and thus are much closer to Waverley. Another change of ground (after leaving Moorabbin in 1992), the early ticketing problems of Colonial and our teams on field performance since playing at the stadium has not helped convince some of these supporters to return.

Yeh they use to do that in Sydney as well.

Oi! Speak for yourself! I always stay to the bitter (and occasionally glorious) end. As always, Perth is beautifully appointed with plentiful trains, buses and even cars of friendly Eagles fans happy to drive you to your destination.

Frankly, if you choose to live in Mooralbark, you can't expect public transport to cater for your every need. The AFL and Connex suggest that you move to better suburb, say Hawthorn or Burnley.

Ahem ahem, I never said anyone specifically, but surely VOR you must admit that not all the Eagles faithful are quite as loyal/bloodyminded as those of us who reside on the West Coast board :)

What about the lack of Trams going to the suburbs after matches at Colonial. All of them go into the city.

I usually have to wait more than 20 minutes for a 96 St.Kilda Beach tram and when it finally arrives there is no where near enough room for all the people waiting.
