Anyone listen to the ABC broadcast on Saturday, and the performance of our leader Wayne Jackson ?

This guy has lost it... he's been wined and dined by the top end of town and now believes his own publicity. He is now dangerous ( esp. when Elliot was the ONLY one defending him ) and needs to enter the old room of mirrors ( take a good hard look ! ). It was like hearing Kennett all over again.

And then .. the after match interview was with ( Sheedy , A player maybe ??? ) .. no Mr Smug himself Costello. This is after hearing a rather pro Carlton commentary which was all a bit sad and bitter.

Let's hear from players and supporters, not 'personalities' and grandstanders that desperately seek publicity this time of year.

I didn't hear the commentary but I can well imagine what Tim Lane's effort would have been like.

Other commentators do a pretty good job at hiding their bias (Sheehan - Demons, Hunt - Richmond ?, Newman - Geelong, White - Essendon) but NO, thats just too much to expect from Lane isn't it ?

I guess he feels that because he is a Carlton supporter he does not have to apologise for showing his bias ?

Again just more typical bloody idiotic Carlton arrogance, the attitude of people who follow this footballl club just beggars belief at times.

Message to Tim Lane and all those other Carlton supporters :

- Your club is not the best, in fact your club are just a bunch of pretty average plodders with a couple of champs thrown in for good measure. If it wasn't for a succession of fat chequebooks, your club would have a very average record indeed.

- I am just so glad your troupe of average plodders could not get within cooeee of a genuinely talented side like Essendon on the weekend. I guess in typical Carlton style you will all go into denial mode now -

"we had injuries" (tell somebody who cares)
" LLoyd was a staging cheat" (No - Manton was exposed as the second rate defender he always has been)

You lost badly - and you never once looked like winning whats more.

You are not a power club - your list is average, your supporter base is shrinking, your home ground is a third rate facility, your president should be in jail for major fraud.

Somebody please tell me - just exactly what do Carlton people have to be so arrogant about ?

The Blues are the embarrassment of the AFL - not the pride.

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought the ABC commentary was TERRIBLY pro-Carlton. Thought it was just me looking through red and black lenses.

Umm... a comment if I may.

1. You are not a power club - your list is
average,

.... the Blues have a great tradition in VFL /AFL and , apart from some odd reject recruiting this year, have got some goers. I recommend Whitnall to you.

2. your supporter base is shrinking,

... Carlton were known as the 'toffs and profs' - the rich guys who couldn't get a place in the MCC ( generally for ethnic reasons ), and all the Uni. people who live very close. I'm not sure about your statement but things look reasonably healthy.

... well, I love suburban footy grounds but that STAND is very crappy. I tend to blame ...

4. your president should be in jail for major fraud.

... HE MUST GO. When he does, you will be AMAZED with the change in the place. THIS IS THE BIG CHALLANGE. Who is going to front him?

... this is DEFINATELY shakey ground for Sydney fans. There has been a lot of moola shovelled into the Sydney boilers unaudited over the years for a number of reasons.

Anyway, that feels better now, doesn't it.
